The power of permit management is in the details. This session will present the requirements gathering process and the application that was developed to facilitate efficient and automated permitting workflows for Jackson County, WI. The county required a process that incorporated 17 different permits, information from various database and mapping sources, and mobile capability for inspections and field work. The resulting application managed information through calculated fields, entry validation, compliance and notification tracking, auto-populated fields, intuitive searches and report generation for administrators and regulators. The process is complex and different for each organization’s workflow, but knowing how to assess and automate permitting will yield best practices and substantial return on investment.
