A well, renowned classic novel which introduced us to modern literature is none other
than "Don Quixote". The story basically revolves around a Spanish gentleman named “Don
Quixote” which lives a life according to his own rules and regulations, guarded by his delusional
fantasies and never ending adventures. But the writer shows us that the life of the character
“Don” is miserable surrounded by triumph. This is one of the most famous books of all time that
introduced fiction to the literature world. The books has been through different editing processes
so the fresh edition is the best (Zimic, Canavaggio and de Cervantes 456).
Miguel de Cervantes is a heroic Spanish writer born in 1547 near the city of Madrid,
Spain. He started reading and writing at a very small age .His early carrier was in ARMY. He got
inducted in year 1570. He wrote great poetry for the wife of KING Philip 2 named “Elizabeth of
Valois”. Though he was badly injured in Battle of Lepanto. Where he was taken as war soldier by
the TURKS. He was kept five years in prison later he was ransomed. Though he used his mind
and tried to flee from the hands of the OTTOMAN empire but was not that much fortunate
enough to succeed. He had two wounds on chest but he still served the Spanish Army During his
days as a soldier as well as in captivity he was used to write poetry; a very affectionate one .After
few years he achieved the success in literature. He died in 1616 which was a great loss to his fans
as well as literacy world (Zimic, Canavaggio and de Cervantes 456).

The character of the story is a middle-aged gentleman just like the author of the book.
The author basically depicts his life through “Don Quixote”. Like the author the character is very
much fascinated by the ideas that he grasped from the books he was used to reading in his life
from an early age. He actually wants to give power to his words and for that, he used a sword so
that he can help the needy and suffering one and destroy the oppressors. He had to face many
hardships during his life. He set his journey to an adventure with a business partner named
“Sancho Penza” but with a promise that he will in return make “Sachs” a wealthy governor. Just
like real life of “Miguel de Cervantes” his factious character is the great lover of glory, pride and
adventure (Zimic, Canavaggio and de Cervantes 456).
He is a well-wisher and generous gentleman he provided all the necessities need at that time to
peasants like food, money, shelter, comfort and respect to the worker ladies for supporting “Del
Taboos” which he thinks can be the princess (Parr 183).
On the second adventurous trip, instead of being a lifesaving hero he became a
“Mobster”. There was a rebel inside him just like his author though depicting his author views,
practices and ideas. He was doing all this only to the harsh citizens who were trying their best to

dismantle him and take away his authority as a knighthood. According to the “The top 100
books of all time”. The Guardian (Manchester)". 11 April 2001. Retrieved. 1 May 2010. "Don
Quixote gets authors' votes". CNN News. 11 May 2003. Retrieved 3 September 2007.
Don Quixote ceases to look after a small boy and gave his responsibility to a cruel a
harsh farmer just on the basis that he gave him words that he will look after the kid and will not
harm him. At that time friendship and loyalty was considered everything is Spain and following
this trend “Sancho” looked after “Don” in very possible way. “Don” even stole a barber’s basin
on a superstitions myth, even he believed on the healing powers of the balsam of firebrats (Parr
184).
The tale also told us about few new characters that the author meets in his real
life .Quixote even attended the funeral ceremony of a student of his who dies because of
suicide .The reason behind his act is his love for a disdainful lady. He was good at heart and a
great admirer of love and peace with can be witnessed by his act of reuniting two separated
couples having misunderstanding and differences between them. In those era of Spain writers
and poets were very kind hearted which can be estimated by his act of making a slave free. Don
has been reading books since his early age and believed in all fantasies related to life according
to the books. Sancho tried his level best to remove all the fantasies from Don Mind. The first part
of the novel ends at the scenario that Don's friends that included the priest and the barber
believed that he is under some kind of attachment and tries their best to make him aware of the

realities (Parr 1).
The second part starts with a scenario that next part of Don Quixote was published in too small
and predefined parts. The life of Don was getting affected by the real and fake versions of the
story.Don and Sancho set out on a journey. Sancho lies to his master that his love Dulcinea has
transformed into a peasant girl by some evil wizard and enchanter. As Don was madly in love
with her, Sancho thought that it might be the ultimate goal of Don Life to restore the girl back
into her initial form (Gillespie, Krauss and de Cervantes 365).
On their journey, they met a duke and a duchess who already knew his love and affection for
Dulcinea. Like an ancient man, he was helpless to restore his love, therefore, he sought help from
duke and duchess who in return played a trick on a person who was under great hardships and
difficulties. What they did was they dressed one of their slaves like Merlin who told Don that the
only way possible to bring the future princess back to her original state is that Don whips himself
3300 on his naked backside. Under the supervision of Duke and Duchess, the master and his
servant set their journey on a wooden horse hoping that they would easily kill and harm the
princess and her lover an turned her female servants into male servants (Gillespie, Krauss and de
Cervantes 365).
While don was staying with the duke, his slave Sancho becomes the governor of a fictitious isle.
The duke and Duchess were clever and it is a clear exhibition of that reign .The duke and
duchess plotted a trap for don and Sancho where Sancho was wounded by warriors hired by duke

for his entertainment. Just like a normal person Sancho chose freedom of speech and liberty of
living over the post of a miserable and low life governor.
In those early days maids were used to falling in life with their masters same happened with Don
because a young made at the duke's palace fell in love with Don but just like the real men of
sixteen century he remained steadfast to Dulcinea. This part of the novel tells us about the writer
and his attentions that even after being loved by a beautiful girl he didn’t change his direction
from his ex-lover. Don thought Dulcinea and her beauty is the end of the world. After being
devastated by the treatment of time and people, Quixote sets on a journey .when he reached
Barcelona one of his friends defeats him badly. He was again shocked to this (Gillespie, Krauss
and de Cervantes 365).
Cervantes is the author of this story and he claims that this is the part of history which he
abstracted from some work of an author named Cide Hamete Benengeli. In the manuscript
written by Cide, Sancho and Don were completely different characters with so much negativity
attached to them (Gillespie, Krauss and de Cervantes 365). Cervantes tried his best to give
respect to the two characters by his life experience and his illusions of arts.
The other half of the novel revolves around a character who loves to read books and his name is
Shanzu Panza. He is a great admirer of art and has a collection of books which he is collecting
since a very small age despite his pocket. He would love to work to get new editions and sequels
but one day his neighbor burns all his books. This act of neighbor shows that back there people
were not an admirer of art, literature and wisdom. Shanzu was born in La Mancha, Spain.

One day he met a goatherd who tried to rescue a girl with Don. They both got beaten up
because they invaded the territory of a local tribe. The name of the girl was Marcela. She was
young and beautiful and was well aware of her beauty. So she had an attitude problem. The
goatherd searched the forest with the help of don and at last, his health got detrimental and he
died. During their quest to finding Marcela, they came across a Galician tribe horse. Don as well
as Shanzu was greatly impressed by the beauty of the horse and tried to steal it but ended up
getting beaten by the tribesmen. The throne of Spain became more powerful and strong during
the seventh century. During the days of Don, the Spanish empire was getting stronger and
influential in America.
In those days Spain was expanding to Europe as well. The greatest enemy was France.
King Philip 2 was the King of the great Empire. King Philip 2 was a great admirer of art and
literature. This era was considered the golden age era for all the arts and artists living in Spain.
After defeating the Ottoman Empire (Gillespie, Krauss and de Cervantes 365).
, their art and culture was also adopted with some modifications. Turk Scholars and artists
were given special importance and priority in Spain

Don was a Spanish factious character which is indeed the reflection of Cervantes a
Spanish writer and an army leader of the seventeenth century. His life was not that much
admirable instead he faced many hardships. He was first a navy sail and while fighting against
the Turks he was taken into captivity by the ottoman soldiers. He spent five years in captivity and
also wrote there while coming back to his country he became tax collector but due to allegations
of fraud he was sent to jail. He also wrote there.
Horse riding was of the things Don Quixote. He was even used to let his horse reins loose
so that he can roam about and find some adventure for his master. He was used to riding while
thinking about his darlings. He had a great sense of humor. He had reservation about his
darling .People and his close friends were used to saying she ain’t good but he was not used to
listening to people because he had strong faith in his love. One day he fell while riding a horse
and he was in so much pain but he was contented but he was a hero in making. Just like the
author the character is fond of singing songs and melodies.
.
He was a chill soul that even after getting hit by a tree .He kept on saying crazy stuff and
people were laughing at his attitude. Don had a library of his own, his friends and family
members always wanted to discard books written on fiction. One day they succeed in burning all
the books written on fiction. While he was not feeling well his friends and neighbors would go to
his library and take out fiction books and later burn them. Sancho who was the partner of Don
was always used to brag about his era and the places that he will rule.
