3. WHAT YOU NEED
• Lens blower – Don’t
use your breath and
leave spit on the
sensor…
• Sensor swab – You can
get these disposable on
e use swabs on eBay.
4. 1) CHECK FOR DIRTY SENSORS
• Attach any clean lens and
use a very small aperture.
• Take a photo of a piece of
white paper.
• The dust spots will appear
clearly in the photo.
• Don’t need to clean if the
sensor is not dirty.
5. 2) AUTOMATIC CLEANING
• Nikon Users: Setup menu > Clean image sensor
> Clean Now
• Canon Users: Menu > Tools > Sensor Cleaning >
Clean Now
• Sony Users: Menu > Cleaning Mode > Enter
6. 3) MANUAL CLEANING
• Do this if the sensor is still dirty
after auto cleaning.
• Mirrorless camera users: You c
an access and clean the senso
r once you take off the lens.
• Nikon DSLR users: Setup Men
u > Lock mirror for cleaning
• Canon DSLR user: Menu > Too
ls > Sensor Cleaning > Clean

7. 4) WET CLEANING
• To remove very stubborn
pieces of dirt.
• Do this only after auto cle
aning fails.
• Same as manual cleaning
– lock the mirror up and u
se the cleaning swab.
8. STILL DIRTY!?
• Could be a piece of dirt permanently stuck.
• Could be other sensor issues.
• Do not attempt to clean anymore, send to service
center for analysis.
