Charles McCathieNevile, Opera Software He is Chief Standards Officer at Opera Software. He has been involved in developing Web Standards since the 90s (when HTML 4 was still being developed), and has worked on major Web standards including HTML, CSS, SVG and more. He is also co-chair of W3C's Web Applications working group, which develops a number of the important standards for the Web. An Australian with a degree in medieval history, he currently lives in Spain and Norway. Presentation topic: Beyond HTML5... Key points: This talk will look at features being added to the Web that are *not* part of HTML5. Enabling client-side augmented reality, new possibilities for communicating through the browser, and other applications that until now could only be done with "native code" is coming to the modern Web platform.
