The Reyes family has six daughters. Each daughter
has two brothers. How many children are there in the
Reyes family?
Step 1. Understand the Problem
• The problem is about determining how many
children are there in the Reyes family. In the
problem, it is said that there are six daughters in
the family and each of the has two brothers.
Analyzing the problem well will help us get the
correct answer for the problem
Step 2. Devise a Plan
• Analyzing the problem well is the key to know the
correct answer. To understand the problem more,
here is an illustration of the problem.

10. Step 3. Carry out the Plan
• After analyzing the illustration of the 6 daughters
and 2 brothers in the Reyes Family, we have
obtained the correct number of children in the
family. There are a total of 8 children in the Reyes
family.
Step 4. Look Back
• With the help of the illustration, we have finally
reached the correct and final answer of our
problem. The Reyes Family has a total of 8 children
consisting of 6 girls and 2 boys.

Step 1. Understand the Problem
As the problem indicate, We need to identify how
many ducks in the problem. By reading it carefully
and analyzing the statement where you can get how
many ducks is given in the statement.
Step 2. Devise a Plan
To provide us and visualize to answer the
problem. I create a simple diagram how the ducks
are positions and how many they are given by the
problem:

N=1+2 = Two ducks in behind
N=2+1 = Two duck in front
N=1+1+1 = one duck in between of two ducks

Jun has 21 coins totaling P1.75. He has twice as
many 10 centavos coins then 5 centavos coins.
STEP 1: Understand the problem
In this problem, we’re about to know how
many 10 centavos that Jun have.
STEP 2: Make a plan
Let a as the quantity of 10 centavos and b
as the quantity of 5 centavos.
(a x 10c)+(b x 5c)=P1.75
STEP 3: Cary out the plan
B=7
A= 2b=2(7)=14
A+b= 21

14. Therefore, Jun has 7 pcs of 5 centavos and
14 pcs of 10 centavos. If we’ll combine it, Jun
has 21 coins.
STEP 4: Look back
Lets substitute the value of a and b to the
equation.
A=14 ; b=7
(a x 10c)+(b x 5c)=P1.75
(14 x 10c)+(7 x 5c)=P1.75
P1.40 + P0.35=P1.75
P1.75 = P1.75
