1. The one and only Ivan
The title of this book is called the one and only Ivan, the author is
called Katherine Applegate and the genre is non-fiction
Summary of the book: Ivan is an easy going gorilla who is used to
humans watching his every move through the glass of his cage. He
can hardly remember his life in the jungle or what happened to his
family. That is, until a baby elephant called Ruby arrives. Suddenly
Ivan sees his home through new eyes and knows he must do
something to make sure Ruby doesn’t end up like him.
How did I feel about the book: it really touched my heart because
this book is actually based on a true story and animal lovers probably
couldn’t resist it and yes it was as good as it looked so I am happy I
got it out and it is true animal lovers can’t resist it.
What was my favourite part and why? My favourite part was when
Ivan was sitting in his room watching TV and these little kids came
along and started pumping their chests so then Ivan decided to do it
to them and they sat down and started crying because it was so loud.
What was the main idea? I think the main idea was to tell people
that animals feel the same way just like humans!!!
2. Who else I would think that would like this: I think animal lovers will
like this book and also people who like sad middles and a happy
ending.
Yes I have read something similar it was called a tiger’s journey and it
was just like this and that touched my heart to!!!
A new fact I learnt from this book is that animals feel just the same
way as humans do
And yes the writing did want to keep me reading because usually at
the next chapter it left you hanging!!!
