2. 10. Limerick
I liked Limerick because we got to write limericks in Limerick and we
went to a limerick writing contest. My favourite limerick was one
about a bee. It came in third place. Here is my limerick:
I went to Ireland,
And wanted to join a band.
I played the drum,
But hurt my thumb.
And I didn’t feel so grand.
3. 9. Dublin
Dublin is on my top ten list because it was
our first city we went to. We also went on a
tour that was fun because the
tour guide sang for us. What I thought
was interesting were the bunk beds
in our hostel because they were lime green!
4. 8. Bunratty Castle
We went to Bunratty Castle, and what I liked about
it was the dungeon. It had steep narrow stairs
and low ceilings. It was very dark and spooky.
The prisoner would not be able to get out because
after the eleventh step there was a big drop and the
wall would be too high for them to climb out.
5. 7. Cliffs of Moher
Crash, splash, moo. Can you hear the waves crashing against the cliff
and the cows mooing while grazing? Those are the main sounds at the
Cliffs of Moher. It was so relaxing we nearly fell asleep after lunch!
6. 6. County Mayo
Playing, jumping, and running oh my! In County Mayo we made great
friends. We had so much fun and slept in a bunkbed! We went on a
long walk and saw most things a giant might have.
7. 5. Blarney Castle
I like castles, but the one I really liked in Ireland was the Blarney Castle. That is exactly where we
kissed the Blarney Stone. While we were walking up I really liked the spiral staircase because it was
narrow and stone and you had to hold onto a rope to stay up and not fall. To kiss the Blarney
Stone I really liked being upside down really high up with just bars and someone who keeps you in
place and tells you what to do. We had to lie down grab on to two bars and pull yourself towards it.
8. 4. Blackcurrant Cordial
Don't get mixed up like Anne of Green Gables did with
sherry! Blackcurrant cordial is so sweet, it is so good on ice cream! I
made it with some help from my family and had a lot of fun making it. I
really liked going out and picking the berries and waving to all the cars
that passed and see if they waved back.
9. 3. Carrick-a-Rede
I like the word Carrick-a-Rede. If you are wondering what is there that I
liked, it is a rope bridge on the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland. It was
not scary but lots of fun! I liked seeing the water flow under me.
10. 2. The House and Cats
I love living in the Country. At this house in the
country there were three cats that lived
there named Jack, Sam and Kitty. They were
so good and cuddly. The garden was also
huge and we could run and play with lots of
space.
11. 1. Giants Causeway
The Giants Causeway is my favourite place we
went to because the man on the audio tour was
funny and told us the story of how Finn McCool
made the causeway, as well as Humphrey the
Camel and Granny.
