4. “There are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with you.” Water is probably the most important resource on Earth. We need water to grow and stay alive. In fact, we could only live for a few days without drinking water. These are the reasons why we need to preserve water. To conserve water we need that people take care of it and of environment in general. We can follow these tips to save water: 4 - When washing dishes by hand, don't let the water run while rinsing. Fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water. You can do the same when you have a shower, and reduce the baths. - Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they are full. You can save up to 1,000 l. a month. - Plant in the fall when conditions are cooler and rainfall is more plentiful.
5. WATER, MONEY Water isn’t free. We have to pay for the costs of treating and distributing the water. We have to be able to get water coming to our home. 5
6. OUR WATER The lack of water doesn’t affect us a lot, because we belong t o the first world and we have water when we need or when we want. But this doesn’t mean that we’ve don’t need to take care of water. If we abuse, situation will be worse than the terrible one we suffered in Catalunya few years ago.Wehave to change our mind and use water only when we need it. If we spoil water, one day we will not even be able to take a bath in the swimming pool, and the lack of water will take us to restrictions even to have a shower. I try to respect water as much as I can, I don’t waste water. 6
