The document provides step-by-step instructions for editing a photo for use on an album cover and CD. It describes using tools like the clone stamp, pen tool, and hue/saturation to smooth skin, select parts of the image, and change colors. Effects were tested until finding one that created the desired ambience. The edited image was then layered onto CD and cover templates, with extra text for the artist name and album title added to complete the virtual constructions.
3. We firstly open the image on to
Photoshop to be edited.
We then used the
clone stamp tool to
cause the artist's face
to appear flawless by
removing any marks
and blemishes, we did
this by firstly selecting
a part of the artist face
which was clear, and
then using the clone
tool to clone any parts
of the artist face which
had flaws using the
selected part.
5. We then began to try and test different effects, having tried a number of different
effects we decided to settle for the dark strokes effect as we felt it made our
image look very effective and proffesional.
DARK STROKES EFFECT
6. For the artist's name we used the same font we had used on the cover. As a
result of this it was already saved in the documents, therefore we just had to
change the colour of the font to white by using the paint bucket tool and
overlap it on to our original image.
9. First of all we opened a CD template from which we removed the
background using the magic wand tool.
10. We then opened the image we would use for the CD and removed any flaws
by using the clone stamp tool
11. We then used the spot healing brush to smoothen the skin on the lips as they were
quite dry and therefore jeopardised the professionalism of our image.
12. We then selected the lips using the pen tool, having selected the lips we
changed the colour of them to purple using the hue/saturation tool. We did
this because purple depicts passion a significant element within our video.
13. We then selected the clothing and changed the colour of parts of the clothes to purple,
we did this to cause the lip colour and clothing to match and again to represent
passion.
14. We then began to test and trial different effects in order to find an effect that would
effectively create the ambience we wanted it. We continued to test and trial effects
until we eventually found the effect we desired.
