1. What are the factors that contribute to
progress in overcoming learning deficits?
2. Which is the optimal program and dosage to
help an individual to overcome their unique
learning deficits?

Talk generally about the program
Talking Points
The wonderful power of neuroplasticity is that it is possible throughout our lifetime. We have students in the program as young as 7 years old and as old as 87 years old, all making similar rates of progress and meaningful, permanent, cognitive change.
On the screen are pictures of some Arrowsmith Program student engaged in various cognitive exercises that are targeting specific areas of the brain. As you can see, there are 3 modalities used in the cognitive exercises – there are pen and paper exercises, auditory exercises, and computer-based exercises.
Students participating in the Arrowsmith Program each work on their own individualized program of cognitive exercises that work to strengthen that student’s weak brain areas.
Talk about the principles of the Arrowsmith program:
-capacity-based
-differentiated stimulation
-starts at a level just above current functioning
-removal of supports
-mastery criteria

What the book is about – most will have read the book (be very brief) mention her struggle and tie it foundational research
- The Arrowsmith Program, created and directed by Barbara Arrowsmith Young, is rooted in neuroscience and uses a series of cognitive exercises, developed by Barbara, to target, stimulate, and strengthen very particular areas of the brain thereby changing the capacity of that brain area, making learning easier and more efficient.
