1. Gloucestershire College – Website / CRM Development
Project
Gloucestershire College are currently developing a new external facing website and
internal SharePoint and CRM system to be hosted and maintained in the cloud.
The design, build, deployment and support of the new website will require content
generation and management, bespoke development of the course selection and
application process and integration with several external systems, mainly via APIs.
To help maintain support of the new site a secure server with backup will need to be
in place.
After a thorough five month research stage the website is now in development.
Key Activities
While the project is still in the development stages Gloucestershire College has;
Undertaken thorough research into the options available and decided to
commission their website and CRM development rather than procure an ‘off-
the-shelf’ package.
Identified the key aspects of the website which is now complete with a
proposed structure is in place. (Please see diagram below)
Key integration points with internal systems have been identified with the MIS
department, taking issues and data security into consideration.
Procured an external development company to undertake the next stage of
work.
2. Future Work
Over the next few months Gloucestershire College will be working on the continued
development of the website architecture while ensuring all the key attributes are in
place, such as; making adjustments to internal systems to ensure smooth
integration, photography and video data prepared and course catalogues re-written
for key audiences.
Moving out of the development stage, Gloucestershire will test the website and
related products, provide training to site editors then prepare deployment of the site.
Key Achievements
Due to the buy in and internal support for the project from key stakeholder groups,
senior management and Governors at the College, Gloucestershire have been able
to sign off on decisions and move forward on the project at a fast pace.
Benefits
Benefits include a better service to current and prospective learners, reduced cost to
the College for hosting and maintaining the website and SharePoint and more
efficiency for teams in terms of updating and maintaining content on the website.
