- 5. The middle class: Usually paid by salary, “white collar” workers. Individuals earning at least $45,000 per year; family of 4 earning at least $65,000 per year. Not working means losing middle class status.
- 6. The working class: “Blue collar” wage workers. Includes semi skilled and skilled labor
- 7. The Poverty class: People living below the poverty line. Including minimum wage workers. 1 person earning less than $19,000 per year; Family of 4 earning less than $25,000 per year.
- 8. The underclass: People who live in destitution outside of the system, often without addresses or phone numbers.
