THEORY
 Works on the assumption that the
behaviour of individuals at a particular
moment is usually determined by their
strongest need.
 Based on hypothesis that within every
human being there exists a hierarchy of five
needs.

THEORY(CONTD)
Five needs:
 1.    Physiological : Basic needs of hunger, thirst,
shelter, clothing and other body needs.
 2.        Safety: security and protection from physical
and emotional harm
 3.       Social: affection, belongingness, acceptance
and friendship
 4.        Esteem: Need for both self esteem(self respect,
autonomy and achievement) and external esteem
(status, recognition and attention)
 5.        Self-actualization the drive to become what
one is capable of becoming: includes growth,
achieving one’s potential, self fulfillment.

GIVEN PERIOD OF TIME IS PERFORMANCE.
PERFORMANCE IS THE OUTCOME OF
MOTIVATION.
 1. The act of performing or the state of being performed.
 2. The act or style of performing a work or role before an
audience.
 3. The way in which someone or something functions: The
pilot rated the airplane's performance in high winds.
 4. A presentation, especially a theatrical one, before an
audience.
 5. Something performed; an accomplishment.
 6. Linguistics One's actual use of language in actual
situations.

GENDER COMPOSITION
From the above graphical interpretation it is clearly seen that out of 34 respondents, 84% of
males are Intrinsically motivated scoring 368 of 440 points while 64% of males are Extrinsically
motivated with 282 of 440 points, whereas on the other hand 82% of females are also highly
Intrinsically motivated scoring 196 of 240 points while 65% of females are Extrinsically
motivated scoring 157 of 240 points.
It is also to be noted that there is one male who is highly Extrinsically motivated than his
Intrinsical value and there is also 1 male & 1 female who is Equal to the value, means neither he
is Intrinsic nor Extrinsic.

From the above graphical representation, survey among 3 males & 3 females of
science stream clearly shows that 52% of males are Intrinsically motivated scoring 52
of 60 points and 34% of males are Extrinsically with 34 of 60 points, Whereas on the
other hand 75% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring 45 of 60 points and 62%
of females Extrinsically with 37 of 60 points.

From the above table it is showing that out of 12 male and 5 females of Commerce
stream 84% of the male are Intrinsically motivated Scoring 201 of 240 points while
65% of the males are also Extrinsically motivated with 155 of 240 points whereas on
the other hand 83% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring 83 of 100 points and
66% of females are also Extrinsically motivated with 66 of 100 points.

From the above graphical representation, survey among 4 males & 1
females of Arts stream clearly shows that 85% of males are Intrinsically
motivated scoring 68 of 80 points and also 73% of males are Extrinsically
motivated with 58 of 80 points, Whereas on the other hand incase of only 1
female 95% of her motivation is Intrinsic scoring 19 of 20 points and 14% of
her motivation is Extrinsic with 14 of 20 points

Lastly from the above graphical representation it is clearly seen that out of 8
respondents from Other stream 78% of the male are Intrinsically motivated Scoring
47 of 60 points while 58% of the males are also Extrinsically motivated with 35 of 60
points whereas on the other hand 22% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring
45 of 60 points and 35% of females are also Extrinsically motivated with 35 of 60
points.
It is also to be noted that there is 1 male & 1 female who is Equal to the value, means
neither he is Intrinsic nor Extrinsic to the value of his
CONCLUSION
 Respondents get opportunity to express their views.
 92% of the respondents are completely satisfied while 8%
of the respondents are partially satisfied.
 Majority of the respondents are Intrinsically motivated to
join the course.
 There is a positive relationship between the respondent’s
interest to the MBA course.
 Motivation is abstract quality, for which measurement
become to difficult task because of the non-availability of
standardized test for it.
 Attitude of students of his/her personal belief towards the
MBA course is extremely favorable.
SUGGESTIONS
 Out Box environment should be improved.
 More essence should be created among MBA
course.
 Value awareness should have to cultivated
among students towards other courses.
 The human motivation is changeable and not
stable it should be considered in mind.
 Praise incentives should be given more.
LIMITATIONS
 Motivation Abstract: Motivation is abstract and it is
very difficult to measure motivation because it can only be
felt. As it cannot be touched there is no standardized data
on motivation.
 Lack of understanding Among the respondents: Most
of the respondents are not able to get the standard
understanding to know their motivational pattern as a
result they become biased in filling of these questionnaires.
 Difficulty in Filling: A large number of the respondents
needed help in filling these questionnaires.
 Lack of Seriousness: Some of the respondents did not
attach the required seriousness to the questionnaire.

  • 15. THE RESULTS OF ACTIVITIES OF AN ORGANIZATION OR AN INDIVIDUAL OVER A GIVEN PERIOD OF TIME IS PERFORMANCE. PERFORMANCE IS THE OUTCOME OF MOTIVATION.  1. FIGURE NO. 1 GENDER COMPOSITION From the above graphical interpretation it is clearly seen that out of 34 respondents, 84% of males are Intrinsically motivated scoring 368 of 440 points while 64% of males are Extrinsically motivated with 282 of 440 points, whereas on the other hand 82% of females are also highly Intrinsically motivated scoring 196 of 240 points while 65% of females are Extrinsically motivated scoring 157 of 240 points. It is also to be noted that there is one male who is highly Extrinsically motivated than his Intrinsical value and there is also 1 male & 1 female who is Equal to the value, means neither he is Intrinsic nor Extrinsic.

FIGURE NO. 2 SCIENCE CHART From the above graphical representation, survey among 3 males & 3 females of science stream clearly shows that 52% of males are Intrinsically motivated scoring 52 of 60 points and 34% of males are Extrinsically with 34 of 60 points, Whereas on the other hand 75% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring 45 of 60 points and 62% of females Extrinsically with 37 of 60 points.

FIGURE NO. 3 COMMERCE CHART From the above table it is showing that out of 12 male and 5 females of Commerce stream 84% of the male are Intrinsically motivated Scoring 201 of 240 points while 65% of the males are also Extrinsically motivated with 155 of 240 points whereas on the other hand 83% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring 83 of 100 points and 66% of females are also Extrinsically motivated with 66 of 100 points.

FIGURE NO. 4 ARTS CHART From the above graphical representation, survey among 4 males & 1 females of Arts stream clearly shows that 85% of males are Intrinsically motivated scoring 68 of 80 points and also 73% of males are Extrinsically motivated with 58 of 80 points, Whereas on the other hand incase of only 1 female 95% of her motivation is Intrinsic scoring 19 of 20 points and 14% of her motivation is Extrinsic with 14 of 20 points

  • 26.   FIGURE NO. 5 OTHERS CHART Lastly from the above graphical representation it is clearly seen that out of 8 respondents from Other stream 78% of the male are Intrinsically motivated Scoring 47 of 60 points while 58% of the males are also Extrinsically motivated with 35 of 60 points whereas on the other hand 22% of females are Intrinsically motivated scoring 45 of 60 points and 35% of females are also Extrinsically motivated with 35 of 60 points. It is also to be noted that there is 1 male & 1 female who is Equal to the value, means neither he is Intrinsic nor Extrinsic to the value of his

CONCLUSION  Respondents get opportunity to express their views.  92% of the respondents are completely satisfied while 8% of the respondents are partially satisfied.  Majority of the respondents are Intrinsically motivated to join the course.  There is a positive relationship between the respondent’s interest to the MBA course.  Motivation is abstract quality, for which measurement become to difficult task because of the non-availability of standardized test for it.  Attitude of students of his/her personal belief towards the MBA course is extremely favorable.
  • 28. SUGGESTIONS  Out Box environment should be improved.  More essence should be created among MBA course.  Value awareness should have to cultivated among students towards other courses.  The human motivation is changeable and not stable it should be considered in mind.  Praise incentives should be given more.
  • 29. LIMITATIONS  Motivation Abstract: Motivation is abstract and it is very difficult to measure motivation because it can only be felt. As it cannot be touched there is no standardized data on motivation.  Lack of understanding Among the respondents: Most of the respondents are not able to get the standard understanding to know their motivational pattern as a result they become biased in filling of these questionnaires.  Difficulty in Filling: A large number of the respondents needed help in filling these questionnaires.  Lack of Seriousness: Some of the respondents did not attach the required seriousness to the questionnaire.
