2. Technology Integration
• Rational:
– Although estuaries are not discussed as often as other
forms of water, they are still important. It is important
to understand how to protect our environment and
wild life. Through the use of technology, we will be
able to learn more about these estuaries and all that
inhabit them.
– The goal is to use technology to bring knowledge
about estuaries to both students and teachers.
– With the use of technology, students will be able to
get first hand videos of estuaries, collect information
on estuaries, and learn more about where estuaries
are located.

• The internet will allow students to watch
videos, read information blogs, and discuss
estuaries with others
• The internet gives students the opportunity to
talk with experts, access photographs, and
search educational websites that provide
information specific to estuaries

There are updates on legislation about helping
saving these habitats. There is also the option

climate changes in California and how these
changes threaten the estuaries. Students will

and information about estuaries. There are
also ways to get involved to help protect the
estuaries. The information is presented in a
colorful and child oriented way so that

estuaries and is presented in a kid friendly
manner. The students can play games, watch
videos, and learn how to help protect the
estuaries.
