The document summarizes presentations from a renewable energy webinar. Anni Mikkonen from the Finnish Wind Power Association discussed the Finnish wind power sector, noting exports are considerable but installed capacity is still low. T.F. Jayasurya from the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association discussed India's growing wind market of 14,000 MW and the country's advantages for investment. The document concludes with an overview of the BusinessVibes networking platform and announcements of new payment features for events.

5. Current situation in wind power in Finland:
Finnish wind power technology
exports are considerable (generators
and freq. converters, gears, blade
materials and blade parts, tower
materials and towers, instruments,
wind turbines, etc. )
Employed over 3000 persons
90 % of the products were exported
0,3 % of the electricity in Finland is
produced with wind (0,3 TWh)
Energy strategy of Finland: target 6
TWh annual wind power production
by 2020
6. The challenges
• Lack of skilled staff -> education is only
starting
• The national research on wind energy
modest → technology program needed
• Still lack of reference projects in Finland
• Installed capacity 130 turbines, 197 MW
• Legislation is finally set
• Waiting for the projects to receive
building permits

7. Case studies
The industry as such: 3 % of the
international market share
Value of the exports of the biggest
companies 1 mrd e/a
Moventas Wind: biggest independent
The Swicth: growing fast
Rautaruukki: high tower- consept
Ahsltöm: blade composite solution
Vaisala: wind measurement systems
