threat," Forrester analyst John Brand told a closed-door
gathering of CIOs in Sydney last week. "The key is not try to
build the strongest wall around IT but to focus on
responding to changes as quickly as you can, that's the role
of the CIO in the future.
The role of CIO in many organizations has expanded
in scope beyond being the IT authority to being the
driving force behind business innovation.

But......the role is changing/has changed,
the expectation of what CIO’s should contribute,
the skills, capabilities required,
the approach CIO’s adopt towards business issues.

than just running IT”.
“equipped with the right capabilities and track record the
