3. Who We are
The Public Research Centre Henri Tudor is an independent applied research centre
located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Since it was established in 1987, CRP
Henri Tudor has been focusing on business innovation, with the goal of making
a significant contribution to increasing the competitiveness of Luxembourg
industry and of its partners throughout the world. In order to achieve this goal,
we collaborate actively with the manufacturing sector, most notably in the fields
of advanced materials and environmental technologies, but also in the area of
organisation and management science. This multidisciplinary approach is one of
our primary assets: our teams are comprised of chemists, physicists, environmental
engineers and experts in industrial systems and technology watch. Through our
MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY innovation programme, we mobilise our skills
in a cross-disciplinary manner in order to propose global solutions that meet the
requirements of the manufacturing industry.

our aim
The MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY innovation programme aims to respond to the
market challenges facing the manufacturing industry, which can be grouped around
three main areas:
• Industry-specific factors, such as cost reduction, improving the cost-benefit
ratio, reducing delays for product delivery and marketing, as well as identifying
new client needs and market niches;

• The formulation and development of materials, both conventional and
innovative, as well as new coating technologies by wet or dry routes;
• The analysis and characterisation of materials according to their
mechanical, thermo-mechanical, topographical, compositional (elementary
and molecular), electro-chemical and structural properties, adopting a
multi-technology and multi-scale approach, which may also include the
development of original ad-hoc methodologies;
• Mechanical and accelerated ageing/weathering tests, as well as the
validation of materials and finished products in accordance with various
standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) for the metallurgy, energy, automotive and
aeronautical sectors, etc.;
• The modelling and simulation of composite structures and materials;
• Life-Cycle Analysis and eco-design (taking environmental aspects into
consideration when designing products, processes and services);
• Services for the optimisation of energy consumption, alongside the
introduction and assessment of clean technologies and renewable energies;
• Support for the definition and set-up of eco-innovation and sustainable
development strategies;
• Production management in accordance with the 'Theory of Constraints'
and 'Lean Management', as well as ’Value Engineering’, business flow and
process modelling/simulation;
• Economic intelligence, competitive intelligence and information
research services (patents, web monitoring, etc.);
• Support services for the valorisation of intellectual property and intangible
assets;
• Macro-economic analyses in order to anticipate developments in the socioeconomic environment.
You can also benefit from the support of the REACH&CLP Helpdesk
Luxembourg, a national technical assistance service that helps you to
identify your obligations and prepare you for ensuring compliance
with the European regulations REACH (registration, evaluation,
authorisation and restriction of chemicals) and CLP (classification,
labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures).
Our materials laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025 certified
to conduct its testing activities.
