2. Human Resources Department
Dr Andrew Mikhael is an experienced independent consultant with a
focus on humanitarian issues and security sector reform. Mikhael
has researched and provided policy recommendations to different
organizations on issues of human rights, refugee policies, security
sector and educational reform. He has consulted for UNHCR in
Lebanon to develop best practices for local police authorities when
dealing with Syrian refugees, ensuring better protection for Syrians.
Mikhael has also worked alongside and organised workshops for
Jordanian military personnel that focused on increasing the officer’s
awareness of human rights. He is currently a Post-Doctoral
Research Associate at Durham University’s School of Government
and International Affairs, leading a project that examines the levels of
inclusion and exclusion of young people in the MENA region.
3. Management Department
Ghada Louhichi holds a Master degree in Hispanic Studies, where she carried out
comparative research on the Spanish and Tunisian Transitions, with a focus on the
transitional justice process and its challenges. She was one of the six participants in the
campaign for disclosing truth on the International Day for the Right to Truth, with the
International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ).
Since March 2015, she has been working as a consultant with several organizations,
including the CEMAT (Centre d’Etudes Maghrébines à Tunis), on issues related to civil
society empowerment and parliamentary development.
During the Tunisian transition, Ghada joined the team of Al Bawsala, a Tunisian youth-led
NGO in December 2012 as the project manager of Marsad.tn the observatory of the NCA for
two years. Through this project they tried to increase citizen’s political awareness and
promote transparency and accountability among deputies.
Ghada worked previously with the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network within its
mission in Tunis, in support of the Tunisian civil society after the revolution.
During the past few years, Ghada had the opportunity to participate in several programs and
trainings on leadership and knowledge exchange. These opportunities were extremely
beneficial in terms of strengthening leadership and entrepreneurial skills of the participants
and giving them access to useful tools in different fields. These programs are the Young
Leaders Visitors Program in Sweden and the Middle East Youth Leadership Jam in Jordan.
4. Wafa Ben Hassine, J.D. is a writer, human rights advocate, and law graduate,
specializing in international law and technology. She has attained her Juris
Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and her B.A. in
Political Science, Public Law from the University of California San Diego.
Wafa primarily writes about women’s rights, Internet governance and digital
rights in the Arab world, and transparency in government. She is currently
researching counterterrorism and anti-cybercrime legislation in the Arab world
and their impact on various human rights online such as privacy and
expression.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Wafa moved back to Tunisia. While
there, she worked as a legislative aide to a National Constituent Assembly
member, a columnist for Nawaat (an activist blogging collective), and as the
Editor in Chief of Tunisia Live. She is also the co-founder of LEAD Tunisia, a
Tunisian non-profit focused on reforming the legal education system in the
country. Her experience in journalism, government, and civil society enabled
her to cultivate a wide network across sectors and fields in the country. Wafa
has also interned at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s Appeals Chamber in
The Hague, Netherlands and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Human
Rights, Democracy, and Labor in drafting its annual human rights reports.

5. Scientific Department - Archaeology
Youssef Cherif is a project manager in the Institute for War and Peace
Reporting, working on Libya. Prior to that, he consulted for the Arab
Institute for Business Managers (IACE, on Tunisian foreign policy), the
United Nations (implementing the Post-2015 Agenda in Tunisia), the
Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies (ITES, on Arabian Gulf and
North African affairs), The Carter Center in Tunisia (political affairs),
etc. Youssef holds a Chevening M.A. in International Relations, from
the Department of War Studies of King's College London, and a
Fulbright M.A. in Classical Studies from Columbia University. He also
holds a Maitrise in Ancient History and writes frequently about
threatened heritage, while trying to raise awareness about the
importance of archaeological sites and History.
