The Ways We Learn - Course Technology Computing Conference Presenter: Linda Steele, Bellevue University There are growing multicultural education and exchange programs across the globe. These are making many high schools and colleges in the United States realize the importance of understanding different learning styles among students with different cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Developing culturally sensitive and adaptive course materials has become more and more important in today's course designs. Doing so helps students from different backgrounds to absorb and understand the essence of the course content better. Delivering knowledge to students with different cultural background can be quite a challenge if the delivery methods have not been aligned with the appropriate adaptation strategies and techniques in the classroom. In this session, we will explore the different free software and online resources, such as Google+, Web-Based Applications, Mobile Apps for Android and Apple Devices, and Learning Style Assessment Tools. These tools are widely used in various countries, including the United States, to identify different learning styles. In addition, they help students and instructors alike improve their communication and learning experience. Furthermore, these tools can also promote peer to peer learning, stimulate discussions, and enhance group project assignment outcomes by leveraging students' strengths based on their cultural experience and learning styles.
