INVITATION
Women have undertaken more important roles than ever in the global society. Women’s
participation has increased in academia, business, politics and etc. Gender equality and
women development play key roles to achieve the Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs)-Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiated by the UN.
These issues were highlighted as activities of the United Nations Entity for Gender
Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) since the beginning of the
21st century. Similar agenda was presented at the World Youth Conference held in Mexico
in 2010 and at the World Congress of Global Partnership held in Duksung Women’s
University in 2012.
Duksung Women’s University in collaboration with UN Women will convene the World
Congress 2014 on August 4-15 in Seoul, Korea. The theme of the World Congress
2014 is “Serving Together: Education for Empowerment of Women”. The Congress aims
at strengthening women’s global partnership and leadership.
The World Congress 2014 also seeks to establish a strong global network of young
women and how to serve together for the global society particularly into Africa and Asia.
Participants will exchange ideas and suggest new paradigms on women’s development
from different perspectives.
The World Congress 2014 presents the Global Leaders Forum, Gender Partnership and
Women Entrepreneurship at the plenary panels. The World Congress 2014 will also
hold the Global Student’s Contest through special sessions in 4 areas including Career
Development, Health and Nutrition, Science and Technology and Art & Design.

We cordially invite you to the World Congress 2014. We look forward to meeting you

  • 3. INVITATION Women have undertaken more important roles than ever in the global society. Women’s participation has increased in academia, business, politics and etc. Gender equality and women development play key roles to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)-Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiated by the UN. Duksung Women’s University in collaboration with UN Women will convene the World Congress 2014 on August 4-15 in Seoul, Korea. The theme of the World Congress 2014 is “Serving Together: Education for Empowerment of Women”. The Congress aims at strengthening women’s global partnership and leadership. The World Congress 2014 also seeks to establish a strong global network of young women and how to serve together for the global society particularly into Africa and Asia.
