Diet
The kangaroo is an herbivore and that means that they will only eat plants. But
the food that they will eat the most are really grass the reason why they were eat
grass is because the places that they live is mostly in arid dry places. These
animals can go for a very long time without water. The type of food that the
kangaroo will eat is grass and they will also eat very small plants to. There are a
lot kangaroos that will mostly eat at night and that means that these animals are
nocturnal feeders. The best time of the day to see a kangaroo eating is really at
night or early in the morning or when the weather starts to get cold. The
kangaroo will normally feed on wild grasses and they will normally feed on them
during dawn and dusk. If the weather is to cloudy or to cold then the kangaroos
will normally eat during the day. The kangaroo does not eat a lot that is because
they will mostly get their food from different types of grass, shrubs, leaves, stems
and they will also eat shoots to they will get their water from the food that they
eat. There are some kangaroo species that can even go for weeks or even months
without drinking any water at all. The red kangaroo can survive on very small
water areas. The red kangaroo will normally feed on different types of grass and
they will also eat other foods that are good for vegetation to. The other food that
the kangaroo will eat is grass, leaves and they will also eat roots to. The way on
how kangaroos eat their food the first thing that they will do is that they will
swallow the food before they do that they will chew it first and then later it will
regurgitate a cud and then it will chew it. The kangaroo will only drink little bits of
water that is because they get their water from the food that they eat. These
animals can even dig up their very own water wells.
Habitat/Range
The kangaroo only lives on the continent of Australia. The type of places where
these animals can be found is on grasslands, savannas, deserts and they can also
be found in dunes that are in Central Australia. The kangaroo can be found on
every single habitat that is in the continent of Australia and those habitats arein
very wet forests that is in New Guinea. The other type of places where the
kangaroo lives in is in dry scrub areas and they also live on open savannas that is
in the continent of Australia. The part of Australia where the kangaroos can be
found is in the eastern part of the Continent. The kangaroos can be found all over
the continent of Australia and they can also be found on Tasmania as well. They
can also be found on the surround islands as well. The kangaroos can be found on
all different types of habitats and they are forests, woodlands, grassy plains and
they can also live on savannas to. The type of habitats that these types of habitats
that the kangaroos lives in is on the deserts of Australia and they can also live on
open grasslands as well. The kangaroo can be found on the open grasslands and
in the deserts that is in the continent of Australia. The red kangaroo can be found
on so many different types habitats that can be found on every single part of the
Australian continent and they can also be found on New Zealand as well. These
animals are found on dry and on grassy plains that can be inside the continent of
Australia and they can also be found in places that have desert areas as well. They
can also be found in tropical forests to but that is not the common place to find
them they will only come to these areas if there is not enough of food in the area
or if they want to come to these types of areas. The places where the kangaroo
cannot be found is in places that that has precipitation areas. The red kangaroo
likes to live in places that have wooded or open plains that has lots of shade that
is in Central Australia. They also like to live in the deserts that are in Australia to.
The red kangaroo likes to live in areas that is hot and very dry condition this
means that these animals like to live in places that has about 500mm of rain in a
year. All of the areas that the kangaroo lives in is abundant. The best place in
Australia where you can find a red kangaroo is on the plains and on the grasslands
that is on Australia.
Size/Weight
The tallest kangaroo in the world is the male red kangaroo and they can grow
about 6 feet (1.8 meters). The smallest kangaroo in the world is the musky rat-
kangaroo and they can grow about 8 inches (21 inches). The most heaviest
kangaroo in the world is the male red kangaroo and they can weight about 200
pounds (90 kilograms). The lightest species of kangaroo is the musky rat-kangaroo
and it can grow about 12 ounces (340 grams). A male kangaroo can grow about
4.6ft (1.4 m) long and they can weight about 150 pounds (68 kg). The females are
a lot smaller than the males are and they can grow about 3.6ft (1.1m) long and
they can weight about 80 pounds (36kg). The most largest kangaroo in the world
is the male red kangaroo and they are not just the largest kangaroo in the world
they are also the largest marsupial in the world to. The length of these animals is
5-5.5 feet that is the length of these animals. The size of their head and body is
3.25 to 5.25ft (1 to 1.6 m) and their tail can grow about 35.5 to 43.5 in (90 to 110
cm). These animals can weight about 200lbs (90 kg). The males can grow about
6.5 feet tall and they can weight about 190 pounds and the females can grow
about 4.5 feet that is how tall these kangaroos are and they can weight about 80
pounds. One of the best known kangaroos in the world is the eastern grey
kangaroo they can weight about 145 pounds (66 kilograms) this is their weight
when they are an adult and they can measure about 10 feet (3 meters) and they
can be this tall up to their nose down to their tail. The size of their tail is 4 feet ( 1
meter) long. The males are a lot bigger than the females are. The males can be
bigger than 10 feet long and they can weight about 200 pounds. The females will
grow about 4 feet long and they can be around 80 pounds. The males will stand
about 5 feet tall but there are some of them that can stand about 6 ½ feet tall.
The total length of these animals is 1 -1.6 m (3.25-5.25 ft). They have a very long
tail to. It can grow about 75 to 120 cm (2.5-4ft) They can weigh about 25-90 kgs
(55-200 lbs). The size of these animals is 6 to 8 feet and they can weight about
200 pounds.
Life span
When these animals are living on their natural habitat than they will live about 6
years and when they are living in captivity like they are living in a zoo then they
will live about 20 years. They can also live about 9 to 12 years as well. There are
some species that can live about 7 to 18 years but it really depends on the type of
species. The red kangaroo can live about 12 to 15 years to. The average life span
for a kangaroo when they are living in the wild they can live about is 23 years this
is their normal life span for when they are living on their natural habitat. They
can also live about 15 to 20 years as well. They can live about 12 to 18 years to.
When the kangaroo is in the wild than they can also live about 8 months as well.
The normal life span of a kangaroo is 9 to 10 years and there are some kangaroos
that can live more than 28 years.
1 interesting fact
The red kangaroo has very powerful hind legs and this is how they can hop so
good and this is also how they can hop in very great speeds to and the total speed
of the kangaroo is over 35 miles (56 kilometers) in an hour. Their bounding gate
can help them to cover 25 feet (8 meters) that is in a single leap and they can
jump over 6 feet (1.8 meters) high. The kangaroo can hop very high and their hop
can be 40 miles per hour (74 kph) and they can also go over 30 feet (9 m) in one
single hop this is how long that the kangaroo can hop for. The kangaroo does not
walk normal that is because they have very long feet. The hop of the kangaroo is
just like an perpetual motion machine hopping can help the kangaroo to keep on
moving and they can do this without using a lot of their energy but it is a true fact
that this is how the kangaroo can activity lose a lot of its energy if they are
hopping to fast then the speed of an kangaroo hop is 20 miles per hour (32
kilometers per hour). The way on the kangaroo can do this is by using a lot of their
leg muscles that can help them to hop. The other thing that will help the
kangaroo to hop is by them using their tail there are very big sets of tendons that
can found right on their tails and that is attached to the hipbone that they have in
their body. With these strong muscles and their tendons working together they
can both help the kangaroo to move in best possible way that they can. To help
the kangaroos to move they have a very strong design on them that can help
them to move and that is called saltation and this is a very special to macro pod.
This is also how the kangaroo can hop on both feet by pushing themselves off of
the ground and they can do this at the same time. The most largest kangaroo hop
can reach about 15 feet (7 meters) in one single hop. The total speed when the
kangaroo jump then it will be about 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour)
in short distances. The speed when kangaroo is jumping high up into the air is
about 35 mph and they can cover over 25 feet this is how high that the kangaroo
can jump for. There are two things that red kangaroos cannot do and those skills
is that they cannot jump or walk backwards that is because they have long hind
legs and their tails are very strong to. The red kangaroo can hop about 40 miles
per hour and they can jump about six feet off of the ground. They can also leap
about 29 feet tall. The kangaroo is the only big animal that will use hopping for an
locomotion. The hopping speed of the red kangaroo is about 20 -25 km in (13-16
mph). They can also hop very fast to and they can go faster than 70 km in (43
mph) that they will do in very short distances. The red kangaroo can race very fast
like they can race about 65kph (40mph). The kangaroo has a very strong and very
long hind foot that can help the kangaroo to hop very hop very good.
2 interesting fact
Everybody knows the famous jabbing and boxing behavior that they do this is a
wayon how kangaroos can talk to each other in their group. The people that study
the kangaroo are saying that when a kangaroo does a jab then this is one of their
ways on how they get contact to the other members in that group and the sounds
that they make to talk is glances, hisses, avoidance, hops, kicks, punches, gentle
touches and in these groups they will also group each other to. There are lots of
different behaviorists that have found lots of different steps on how a kangaroo
greets each other and this is what helps the baboon’s friendships to. Kangaroos
live in a group that is called a mop. In every single mop there are always a few
males and seven females and their babies that are calleda joey. A kangaroo mop
does have a leader and it will normally be male that will be in charge of the group.
When the younger kangaroos and there will beonly a few kangaroos that will
have to find other mobs so that they can join in. A mob will have a lot of
member’s in it if the area is filled with lots of food in it and so that the leader will
know where to find it. The young and there will be some adults that will have to
find and join their very own groups. The other names for kangaroo is called a
troop or a herd. These animals are known to be very social animals. There will be
a lot of kangaroos that will be in the mob that will also be in family group. The
male kangaroo that is the leader of mob is called the boomer. This is what the
dominant male is called but if that male wants to be the leader of the mob than
that male will have to be the right size and the right age. When it is time for the
boomer to mate then he will usually temporary exclusive access to the females
that are in the mob. When it is time for them to mate than the boomer will start
to wander in and out of the mop so that he can keep an out for the females and
to look out for other males that want to mate with the females that are in mop.
3 interesting fact
When a kangaroo knows that there is danger nearby than it will start to thump
very hard with their very loud feet very hard on the ground so that it can tell the
other members of the troop that there is danger nearby. The kangaroo can talk to
each other in lots of different ways and the type of sounds that they will use
when they are talking to each other is grunting, coughing and they can also his to.
The kangaroo will also share their land with other animals to and those animals
are cassowary, kookaburra, the wallaby and they will also share their land with the
dingo to. The females have a special type of call and they will normally use this
call so that she can call to her babies they will make a clicking and a chucking
sounds to. These are all of the sounds that the mother will use to call her babies.
The predator that the kangaroo faces in the wild is the dingo . But the baby joeys
also have their own predators that they have to look out for but they will only
face these predators when they are out of the mothers pouch and the most
dangerous predator to a baby kangaroo is very large birds of prey. There are 3
different types of species of kangaroo that live on Australia and these species are
the ones that are still alive on this planet today and those kangaroos are the red
kangaroo which is known to be the most well-known kangaroo and it is also
known to being the most largest kangaroo in the world. The other species is the
Eastern grey kangaroo this one is known to be the most heaviest all the kangaroo
species other kangaroos but the red kangaroo is a lot taller than the Eastern grey
kangaroo is. The last kangaroo that is in the species is the western grey kangaroo
and they live in very big numbers and they can come in the color grey and they
can also come in the color brown to. The kangaroo is known to be the national
emblem of Australia.
Responding
It will take the new born kangaroo a very long time for them to reach their
mothers stomach so that they can get out of the pouch safety. When the baby
kangaroo does come out of the pouch then it will start to be very small like an
bumblebee, they will also be blind and they will only use their forelimbs as well.
When the baby is out of the pouch than the baby will start to haul itself and it will
look like a snake that will be about six inches from the birth canal and up to the
pouch when the babies are inside of the pouch than they will right way wrap their
mouths around the mothers four nipples and it will not stay for 3 months. The
kangaroo will never leave the pouch again until the baby isabout six months old.
They will leave the pouch forever until the baby kangaroo is eight months old or
until it is ten months old. There will be sometimes that the baby will poke it head
out of the pouch from time to time so that it can drink its mother’s milk. A baby
kangaroo is called a joey. The breeding season of a kangaroo happens all year
long. The females can even give birth in a later time. The females will normally
give birth late and they will continue to have a delay birth until the baby is ready
to be born and this is called embryonic diapause. The gestation period for the
kangaroo is 33 days. The joey will be ready to leave the pouch in about 235 days
but the babies will remain to suckle until they reach the age of 12 months. This is
the age when they are ready to stop suckling. A female kangaroo will only give
birth to only one baby but there are some species that can have 4 babies. The
gestation period of a kangaroo is 21 to 38 days. There are some species that there
gestation period can go for 120 to 450 days this is how long that they will be in
their mothers pouch. A baby kangaroo can weight about 0.2 to 0.9 inches (5 to 25
millimeters). This is the same size as an grain of rice and a honeybee. The females
will normally give birth to only one baby at a time. A newborn baby kangaroo will
weigh about 0.03 when they are born and these babies can be so small just like a
lima bean that is how small a baby kangaroo is when they are first born. Right
after they are born then the first thing that the baby will do is to crawl into the
mothers pouch. This is where the baby will drink milk and this is also the place
where they will grow to. The red kangaroo baby will not be ready to leave the
pouch for good until it is 8 months old. The gray kangaroo are a lot different than
the red kangaroo is that is because the gray kangaroo will be ready to leave the
pouch when they are almost a year old. The red kangaroo will breed all year long
and the gestation period for these animals is 33 days. A female kangaroo will give
birth to only one joey. The gestation period for a red kangaroo it will usually last
about 6 or in 7 weeks this is how long that the gestation period of an red
kangaroo will last about. A female will normally give birth to only one baby. The
moment that the joey is born it will be very small and their size can even be small
like an lima bean than that will be the time when the baby will drink its mother’s
milk. The babies will stay inside the pouch in 6.5-7.5 months. The females will be
ready to mate in eighteen months. The males will be ready in two years the
couple will only just have one baby that is called a joey. But there will be
sometimes that the mother will have more than just one baby the mother can
nursemore than just one baby joey. The babies will stay in the pouch for 5 or in 6
months. When that time comes then the joey will start to grow and look a lot like
its parents but it is a lot smaller than the parents are. The babies will start to
spend a lot of their time out of the in the pouch and they will normally stay there
for 2 or in 3 months. The only time that they do go back into the pouch if there is
danger nearby or they feel like they are being threatened that is the only time
that the baby will go back into the pouch for protection like something that is
going to hurt them. The joey will continue to drink its mother’s milk until they are
one year old. But they will stay close to their mother for 6 months.
Survival Status
The kangaroo is in huge trouble right now that is because they are getting killed
for meat and they are also getting killed so that people can make hides out of
them. Hunting is not the only problem that the kangaroo has to deal with. And
that problem is that the kangaroo is facing so many domestic herbivores like the
sheep, cattle and rabbits. That is because they are starting to take over their land
and that means there is starting to be a very big completion for the plants that
the kangaroo needs to eat and if the domestic animals keep on eating the
kangaroo’s food then the kangaroo will not have enough plants for themselves.
This is making it very hard for the kangaroo to look for food that is because there
is not enough for themselves because there is so many livestock that are taking
over their feeding grounds. The kangaroo is not being threatened but the
kangaroo is facing a lot of problems right now and one of those issues is that
these animals are facing is that people are killing them for meat and they are also
killing them for their skin to. The red kangaroo can also be anannoying animal to
and these animals will also sometimes be shot by people that is because these
animals are being so annoying. Humans are causing a lot of problems for the red
kangaroos population that will be widely dispersed. There are so many people
that look at a kangaroos like a pest that is because they destroy so many peoples
crops. The population of the kangaroo is starting to increase that are in so many
kinds of places that is in the continent of Australia have been calling the kangaroo
a pest for two centuries The tree kangaroo that lives in New Guinea are losing a
lot of their homes to people. The reason why tree kangaroo is losing a lot of their
habitats to people. That is because there is not a lot of trees that are in the very
large forests that they live in and people are also destroying there habitats that is
because of mining, agriculture and for lumber as well. These are the reasons why
these tree dwellers are in trouble today. There are about 20 different species of
kangaroo that are known to be threatened but this goes for the smaller species of
kangaroo. The reason why these animals are in trouble is because there are so
many different domestic animals that are pushing the kangaroos far away from
their normal feeding grounds. The other threats that are harming these great
animals and that are also pushing the kangaroo far away from their feeding
grounds as well and the threats that are harming these animals are mining,
agriculture and the other problem is lumber interests. There are some species of
kangaroo that are getting preyed by the red fox and the normal house cat. This is
the problem that the smaller species are dealing with the largest species are
dealing with a much different problem than the smaller species are dealing with.
The larger species of kangaroo are having problem with reproducing because
they are starting to reproduce all the time now so that every time a kangaroo has
a new baby then scientists will have to do a lot of surveys on their populations
that will have to be taken and kangaroos will normally have to be choose that
they will have to be done for these types of species. There are so many scientists
that are trying to look for ways on how they can control on how a kangaroo can
give birth and they will normally go into licks as well. The people that live in
Australia they are trying to found ways on how they can protect all the species of
the kangaroo. The people that live in New Guinea hold the key of the success and
the failure of conservation effects that are trying to save the kangaroo. The
Aboriginal people has owned at lot on the New Guinea’s land and money of the
land of New Guinea. The settlers that came from Europe have changed a lot on
the kangaroos habitat in so many ways. One of those problems is that they are
cuting down trees so that they can make more land for farming and for the
grazing animals that they own like sheep and cattle. The kangaroos that live in the
forests have lost a lot of their homes because of people. The kangaroos that live
in the dry central part of Australia which is called the outback. There is an very big
problem overt here because the ranchers that live in this part of Australia will
usually dig wells for their livestock. The outback needs a lot of water so that it
can support the large species of the kangaroo when the time that the drought
comes than that means that the kangaroos will have to take precious water that is
usually set up by ranchers so that their livestock like the sheep and the cattle can
drink. The farmers that live in Australia are starting to complain because the
kangaroo is eating all of their grasslands and all of their crops. The government of
Australia has step in so that they can take care of the complains. This is a very big
problem in Australia because the government has allowed a huge number of
kangaroos to be killed every single year and they are getting killed by licensed
hunters is based on the size of the kangaroo’s population people are killing them
for the meat and for their skins will the reason why they will kill them for their
meat and for their skins that is because so that they can sell them in markets that
are in Australia. The people that live in Australia will often kill them for their meat
because so that they can make pet food out of them and sometimes people will
also eat them as well. People will kill them kangaroo for their skin is because so
that people can make sturdy, lightweight and flexible so that they can make
running shoes and gloves that are made out of the kangaroo’s skin.
Message from the Author
We must do something to help and to save these amazing animals. These
Marsupials need all the help that they can get. The kangaroo has the right to
continue living on this planet. They are doing their part in nature and we should
find a place in nature to. This is a really big planet that is filled with wonders and
discoveries that are waiting to be found. We have to make this planet a safe place
for us and for the other creatures that we share with. This is our beautiful
homeand it deserves to have a second change to live on for the next generation
to come on this planet. There is a really big, bright and beautiful future that is
what will happen if we find a way to protect our planet. This is our world and our
home will be a much happier and much cleaner place to live in. We have to make
room for other living creatures to. God made animals for a reason just like he
made us. That is what I know about the kangaroo. If we all work together we can
save the kangaroo and all the other animals that live on this planet to. Together
we can make a difference in this beautiful planet that we all share. Thank you so
much for doing your part. With you reading and enjoying this book. You are
helping your favorite animal and its survival in the wild. Without your support and
love and respect your favorite animal will have a chance to make a comeback and
to be seen for the many years to come. This is a huge thank you for helping these
animals and everything else that has to do with nature. Nature it is very important
because without nature our planet will not be so beautiful and full of wonder that
can open a person’s eyes to world that they never had imagined. Nature thanks
you for your support.

A book on the kangaroo

  • 1. Diet The kangaroo is an herbivore and that means that they will only eat plants. But the food that they will eat the most are really grass the reason why they were eat grass is because the places that they live is mostly in arid dry places. These animals can go for a very long time without water. The type of food that the kangaroo will eat is grass and they will also eat very small plants to. There are a lot kangaroos that will mostly eat at night and that means that these animals are nocturnal feeders. The best time of the day to see a kangaroo eating is really at night or early in the morning or when the weather starts to get cold. The kangaroo will normally feed on wild grasses and they will normally feed on them during dawn and dusk. If the weather is to cloudy or to cold then the kangaroos will normally eat during the day. The kangaroo does not eat a lot that is because they will mostly get their food from different types of grass, shrubs, leaves, stems and they will also eat shoots to they will get their water from the food that they eat. There are some kangaroo species that can even go for weeks or even months without drinking any water at all. The red kangaroo can survive on very small water areas. The red kangaroo will normally feed on different types of grass and they will also eat other foods that are good for vegetation to. The other food that the kangaroo will eat is grass, leaves and they will also eat roots to. The way on how kangaroos eat their food the first thing that they will do is that they will swallow the food before they do that they will chew it first and then later it will regurgitate a cud and then it will chew it. The kangaroo will only drink little bits of water that is because they get their water from the food that they eat. These animals can even dig up their very own water wells. Habitat/Range The kangaroo only lives on the continent of Australia. The type of places where these animals can be found is on grasslands, savannas, deserts and they can also be found in dunes that are in Central Australia. The kangaroo can be found on
  • 2. every single habitat that is in the continent of Australia and those habitats arein very wet forests that is in New Guinea. The other type of places where the kangaroo lives in is in dry scrub areas and they also live on open savannas that is in the continent of Australia. The part of Australia where the kangaroos can be found is in the eastern part of the Continent. The kangaroos can be found all over the continent of Australia and they can also be found on Tasmania as well. They can also be found on the surround islands as well. The kangaroos can be found on all different types of habitats and they are forests, woodlands, grassy plains and they can also live on savannas to. The type of habitats that these types of habitats that the kangaroos lives in is on the deserts of Australia and they can also live on open grasslands as well. The kangaroo can be found on the open grasslands and in the deserts that is in the continent of Australia. The red kangaroo can be found on so many different types habitats that can be found on every single part of the Australian continent and they can also be found on New Zealand as well. These animals are found on dry and on grassy plains that can be inside the continent of Australia and they can also be found in places that have desert areas as well. They can also be found in tropical forests to but that is not the common place to find them they will only come to these areas if there is not enough of food in the area or if they want to come to these types of areas. The places where the kangaroo cannot be found is in places that that has precipitation areas. The red kangaroo likes to live in places that have wooded or open plains that has lots of shade that is in Central Australia. They also like to live in the deserts that are in Australia to. The red kangaroo likes to live in areas that is hot and very dry condition this means that these animals like to live in places that has about 500mm of rain in a year. All of the areas that the kangaroo lives in is abundant. The best place in Australia where you can find a red kangaroo is on the plains and on the grasslands that is on Australia. Size/Weight The tallest kangaroo in the world is the male red kangaroo and they can grow about 6 feet (1.8 meters). The smallest kangaroo in the world is the musky rat-
  • 3. kangaroo and they can grow about 8 inches (21 inches). The most heaviest kangaroo in the world is the male red kangaroo and they can weight about 200 pounds (90 kilograms). The lightest species of kangaroo is the musky rat-kangaroo and it can grow about 12 ounces (340 grams). A male kangaroo can grow about 4.6ft (1.4 m) long and they can weight about 150 pounds (68 kg). The females are a lot smaller than the males are and they can grow about 3.6ft (1.1m) long and they can weight about 80 pounds (36kg). The most largest kangaroo in the world is the male red kangaroo and they are not just the largest kangaroo in the world they are also the largest marsupial in the world to. The length of these animals is 5-5.5 feet that is the length of these animals. The size of their head and body is 3.25 to 5.25ft (1 to 1.6 m) and their tail can grow about 35.5 to 43.5 in (90 to 110 cm). These animals can weight about 200lbs (90 kg). The males can grow about 6.5 feet tall and they can weight about 190 pounds and the females can grow about 4.5 feet that is how tall these kangaroos are and they can weight about 80 pounds. One of the best known kangaroos in the world is the eastern grey kangaroo they can weight about 145 pounds (66 kilograms) this is their weight when they are an adult and they can measure about 10 feet (3 meters) and they can be this tall up to their nose down to their tail. The size of their tail is 4 feet ( 1 meter) long. The males are a lot bigger than the females are. The males can be bigger than 10 feet long and they can weight about 200 pounds. The females will grow about 4 feet long and they can be around 80 pounds. The males will stand about 5 feet tall but there are some of them that can stand about 6 ½ feet tall. The total length of these animals is 1 -1.6 m (3.25-5.25 ft). They have a very long tail to. It can grow about 75 to 120 cm (2.5-4ft) They can weigh about 25-90 kgs (55-200 lbs). The size of these animals is 6 to 8 feet and they can weight about 200 pounds. Life span When these animals are living on their natural habitat than they will live about 6 years and when they are living in captivity like they are living in a zoo then they will live about 20 years. They can also live about 9 to 12 years as well. There are
  • 4. some species that can live about 7 to 18 years but it really depends on the type of species. The red kangaroo can live about 12 to 15 years to. The average life span for a kangaroo when they are living in the wild they can live about is 23 years this is their normal life span for when they are living on their natural habitat. They can also live about 15 to 20 years as well. They can live about 12 to 18 years to. When the kangaroo is in the wild than they can also live about 8 months as well. The normal life span of a kangaroo is 9 to 10 years and there are some kangaroos that can live more than 28 years. 1 interesting fact The red kangaroo has very powerful hind legs and this is how they can hop so good and this is also how they can hop in very great speeds to and the total speed of the kangaroo is over 35 miles (56 kilometers) in an hour. Their bounding gate can help them to cover 25 feet (8 meters) that is in a single leap and they can jump over 6 feet (1.8 meters) high. The kangaroo can hop very high and their hop can be 40 miles per hour (74 kph) and they can also go over 30 feet (9 m) in one single hop this is how long that the kangaroo can hop for. The kangaroo does not walk normal that is because they have very long feet. The hop of the kangaroo is just like an perpetual motion machine hopping can help the kangaroo to keep on moving and they can do this without using a lot of their energy but it is a true fact that this is how the kangaroo can activity lose a lot of its energy if they are hopping to fast then the speed of an kangaroo hop is 20 miles per hour (32 kilometers per hour). The way on the kangaroo can do this is by using a lot of their leg muscles that can help them to hop. The other thing that will help the kangaroo to hop is by them using their tail there are very big sets of tendons that can found right on their tails and that is attached to the hipbone that they have in their body. With these strong muscles and their tendons working together they can both help the kangaroo to move in best possible way that they can. To help the kangaroos to move they have a very strong design on them that can help them to move and that is called saltation and this is a very special to macro pod. This is also how the kangaroo can hop on both feet by pushing themselves off of
  • 5. the ground and they can do this at the same time. The most largest kangaroo hop can reach about 15 feet (7 meters) in one single hop. The total speed when the kangaroo jump then it will be about 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour) in short distances. The speed when kangaroo is jumping high up into the air is about 35 mph and they can cover over 25 feet this is how high that the kangaroo can jump for. There are two things that red kangaroos cannot do and those skills is that they cannot jump or walk backwards that is because they have long hind legs and their tails are very strong to. The red kangaroo can hop about 40 miles per hour and they can jump about six feet off of the ground. They can also leap about 29 feet tall. The kangaroo is the only big animal that will use hopping for an locomotion. The hopping speed of the red kangaroo is about 20 -25 km in (13-16 mph). They can also hop very fast to and they can go faster than 70 km in (43 mph) that they will do in very short distances. The red kangaroo can race very fast like they can race about 65kph (40mph). The kangaroo has a very strong and very long hind foot that can help the kangaroo to hop very hop very good. 2 interesting fact Everybody knows the famous jabbing and boxing behavior that they do this is a wayon how kangaroos can talk to each other in their group. The people that study the kangaroo are saying that when a kangaroo does a jab then this is one of their ways on how they get contact to the other members in that group and the sounds that they make to talk is glances, hisses, avoidance, hops, kicks, punches, gentle touches and in these groups they will also group each other to. There are lots of different behaviorists that have found lots of different steps on how a kangaroo greets each other and this is what helps the baboon’s friendships to. Kangaroos live in a group that is called a mop. In every single mop there are always a few males and seven females and their babies that are calleda joey. A kangaroo mop does have a leader and it will normally be male that will be in charge of the group. When the younger kangaroos and there will beonly a few kangaroos that will
  • 6. have to find other mobs so that they can join in. A mob will have a lot of member’s in it if the area is filled with lots of food in it and so that the leader will know where to find it. The young and there will be some adults that will have to find and join their very own groups. The other names for kangaroo is called a troop or a herd. These animals are known to be very social animals. There will be a lot of kangaroos that will be in the mob that will also be in family group. The male kangaroo that is the leader of mob is called the boomer. This is what the dominant male is called but if that male wants to be the leader of the mob than that male will have to be the right size and the right age. When it is time for the boomer to mate then he will usually temporary exclusive access to the females that are in the mob. When it is time for them to mate than the boomer will start to wander in and out of the mop so that he can keep an out for the females and to look out for other males that want to mate with the females that are in mop. 3 interesting fact When a kangaroo knows that there is danger nearby than it will start to thump very hard with their very loud feet very hard on the ground so that it can tell the other members of the troop that there is danger nearby. The kangaroo can talk to each other in lots of different ways and the type of sounds that they will use when they are talking to each other is grunting, coughing and they can also his to. The kangaroo will also share their land with other animals to and those animals are cassowary, kookaburra, the wallaby and they will also share their land with the dingo to. The females have a special type of call and they will normally use this call so that she can call to her babies they will make a clicking and a chucking sounds to. These are all of the sounds that the mother will use to call her babies. The predator that the kangaroo faces in the wild is the dingo . But the baby joeys also have their own predators that they have to look out for but they will only face these predators when they are out of the mothers pouch and the most dangerous predator to a baby kangaroo is very large birds of prey. There are 3 different types of species of kangaroo that live on Australia and these species are the ones that are still alive on this planet today and those kangaroos are the red
  • 7. kangaroo which is known to be the most well-known kangaroo and it is also known to being the most largest kangaroo in the world. The other species is the Eastern grey kangaroo this one is known to be the most heaviest all the kangaroo species other kangaroos but the red kangaroo is a lot taller than the Eastern grey kangaroo is. The last kangaroo that is in the species is the western grey kangaroo and they live in very big numbers and they can come in the color grey and they can also come in the color brown to. The kangaroo is known to be the national emblem of Australia. Responding It will take the new born kangaroo a very long time for them to reach their mothers stomach so that they can get out of the pouch safety. When the baby kangaroo does come out of the pouch then it will start to be very small like an bumblebee, they will also be blind and they will only use their forelimbs as well. When the baby is out of the pouch than the baby will start to haul itself and it will look like a snake that will be about six inches from the birth canal and up to the pouch when the babies are inside of the pouch than they will right way wrap their mouths around the mothers four nipples and it will not stay for 3 months. The kangaroo will never leave the pouch again until the baby isabout six months old. They will leave the pouch forever until the baby kangaroo is eight months old or until it is ten months old. There will be sometimes that the baby will poke it head out of the pouch from time to time so that it can drink its mother’s milk. A baby kangaroo is called a joey. The breeding season of a kangaroo happens all year long. The females can even give birth in a later time. The females will normally give birth late and they will continue to have a delay birth until the baby is ready to be born and this is called embryonic diapause. The gestation period for the kangaroo is 33 days. The joey will be ready to leave the pouch in about 235 days but the babies will remain to suckle until they reach the age of 12 months. This is the age when they are ready to stop suckling. A female kangaroo will only give
  • 8. birth to only one baby but there are some species that can have 4 babies. The gestation period of a kangaroo is 21 to 38 days. There are some species that there gestation period can go for 120 to 450 days this is how long that they will be in their mothers pouch. A baby kangaroo can weight about 0.2 to 0.9 inches (5 to 25 millimeters). This is the same size as an grain of rice and a honeybee. The females will normally give birth to only one baby at a time. A newborn baby kangaroo will weigh about 0.03 when they are born and these babies can be so small just like a lima bean that is how small a baby kangaroo is when they are first born. Right after they are born then the first thing that the baby will do is to crawl into the mothers pouch. This is where the baby will drink milk and this is also the place where they will grow to. The red kangaroo baby will not be ready to leave the pouch for good until it is 8 months old. The gray kangaroo are a lot different than the red kangaroo is that is because the gray kangaroo will be ready to leave the pouch when they are almost a year old. The red kangaroo will breed all year long and the gestation period for these animals is 33 days. A female kangaroo will give birth to only one joey. The gestation period for a red kangaroo it will usually last about 6 or in 7 weeks this is how long that the gestation period of an red kangaroo will last about. A female will normally give birth to only one baby. The moment that the joey is born it will be very small and their size can even be small like an lima bean than that will be the time when the baby will drink its mother’s milk. The babies will stay inside the pouch in 6.5-7.5 months. The females will be ready to mate in eighteen months. The males will be ready in two years the couple will only just have one baby that is called a joey. But there will be sometimes that the mother will have more than just one baby the mother can nursemore than just one baby joey. The babies will stay in the pouch for 5 or in 6 months. When that time comes then the joey will start to grow and look a lot like its parents but it is a lot smaller than the parents are. The babies will start to spend a lot of their time out of the in the pouch and they will normally stay there for 2 or in 3 months. The only time that they do go back into the pouch if there is danger nearby or they feel like they are being threatened that is the only time that the baby will go back into the pouch for protection like something that is going to hurt them. The joey will continue to drink its mother’s milk until they are one year old. But they will stay close to their mother for 6 months.
  • 9. Survival Status The kangaroo is in huge trouble right now that is because they are getting killed for meat and they are also getting killed so that people can make hides out of them. Hunting is not the only problem that the kangaroo has to deal with. And that problem is that the kangaroo is facing so many domestic herbivores like the sheep, cattle and rabbits. That is because they are starting to take over their land and that means there is starting to be a very big completion for the plants that the kangaroo needs to eat and if the domestic animals keep on eating the kangaroo’s food then the kangaroo will not have enough plants for themselves. This is making it very hard for the kangaroo to look for food that is because there is not enough for themselves because there is so many livestock that are taking over their feeding grounds. The kangaroo is not being threatened but the kangaroo is facing a lot of problems right now and one of those issues is that these animals are facing is that people are killing them for meat and they are also killing them for their skin to. The red kangaroo can also be anannoying animal to and these animals will also sometimes be shot by people that is because these animals are being so annoying. Humans are causing a lot of problems for the red kangaroos population that will be widely dispersed. There are so many people that look at a kangaroos like a pest that is because they destroy so many peoples crops. The population of the kangaroo is starting to increase that are in so many kinds of places that is in the continent of Australia have been calling the kangaroo a pest for two centuries The tree kangaroo that lives in New Guinea are losing a lot of their homes to people. The reason why tree kangaroo is losing a lot of their habitats to people. That is because there is not a lot of trees that are in the very large forests that they live in and people are also destroying there habitats that is because of mining, agriculture and for lumber as well. These are the reasons why these tree dwellers are in trouble today. There are about 20 different species of kangaroo that are known to be threatened but this goes for the smaller species of kangaroo. The reason why these animals are in trouble is because there are so
  • 10. many different domestic animals that are pushing the kangaroos far away from their normal feeding grounds. The other threats that are harming these great animals and that are also pushing the kangaroo far away from their feeding grounds as well and the threats that are harming these animals are mining, agriculture and the other problem is lumber interests. There are some species of kangaroo that are getting preyed by the red fox and the normal house cat. This is the problem that the smaller species are dealing with the largest species are dealing with a much different problem than the smaller species are dealing with. The larger species of kangaroo are having problem with reproducing because they are starting to reproduce all the time now so that every time a kangaroo has a new baby then scientists will have to do a lot of surveys on their populations that will have to be taken and kangaroos will normally have to be choose that they will have to be done for these types of species. There are so many scientists that are trying to look for ways on how they can control on how a kangaroo can give birth and they will normally go into licks as well. The people that live in Australia they are trying to found ways on how they can protect all the species of the kangaroo. The people that live in New Guinea hold the key of the success and the failure of conservation effects that are trying to save the kangaroo. The Aboriginal people has owned at lot on the New Guinea’s land and money of the land of New Guinea. The settlers that came from Europe have changed a lot on the kangaroos habitat in so many ways. One of those problems is that they are cuting down trees so that they can make more land for farming and for the grazing animals that they own like sheep and cattle. The kangaroos that live in the forests have lost a lot of their homes because of people. The kangaroos that live in the dry central part of Australia which is called the outback. There is an very big problem overt here because the ranchers that live in this part of Australia will usually dig wells for their livestock. The outback needs a lot of water so that it can support the large species of the kangaroo when the time that the drought comes than that means that the kangaroos will have to take precious water that is usually set up by ranchers so that their livestock like the sheep and the cattle can drink. The farmers that live in Australia are starting to complain because the kangaroo is eating all of their grasslands and all of their crops. The government of Australia has step in so that they can take care of the complains. This is a very big
  • 11. problem in Australia because the government has allowed a huge number of kangaroos to be killed every single year and they are getting killed by licensed hunters is based on the size of the kangaroo’s population people are killing them for the meat and for their skins will the reason why they will kill them for their meat and for their skins that is because so that they can sell them in markets that are in Australia. The people that live in Australia will often kill them for their meat because so that they can make pet food out of them and sometimes people will also eat them as well.
