1.
2. 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? My media product represents particular social groups because of the type of images i have used as well as the layout. Looking at a Kerrang magazine, i chose certain aspects from it so it would work with that social group but not enough so that other social groups would have a problem, i tried to make my product so that a number of social groups may be drawn too it. I feel i have represented a rather calm, indie type of scene with the images and layout, it's calm and not in your face like kerrang but it isn't as bright and vibrant as say , a child's/girls magazine. The font i have used will also target specific social groups as well as the other bands inside the magazine.
3. Digital distribution only might be the best way to distribute this type of magazine, yes it would look ok next to another magazine in the shops but because of the subject and the uniqueness of the music within i think it would be better for digital distribution because it's getting bigger and it's new age technology 3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
4. 4. Who would be the audience for your media product? The audience for my media product would be aged around 14-21, be both male and female and they would have some a particular liking to music, specifically indie/punk/rock music. I didn't particularly choose this type of market because it's the way i wanted it too be but the images i had obtained and the layout i liked portrayed this type of audience.
5. 5. How did you attract/address your audience? I adressed/atrracted the audience by involving them into the magazine by giving them two names of bands that are within our school, which a lot of people know about as well as the tension between them. I've also targeted audience by making the central image stand out and making the rest of the magazine simple. The way the target audience seem to like it.
6. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product? I have learnt and progressed with using Sony Vegas, to obviously create my evaluation, using fireworks within school and then using the ideas from fireworks and them putting them into adobe Photoshop and coming up with my final idea. As well as this i have learnt about and how too use blogger, using fonts and also using other photography websites such as flikr and photo bucket and having a basic working knowledge on Slide Share Having, in the past, worked with Photoshop and fireworks i had , from the start a certain amount of skill to help me do what i wanted too, i spent ore time on Photoshop than i ever did fireworks therefore i feel my skill in fireworks has progressed and i feel a sense of accomplishment.
7. 7. Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? I feel from my prelim to my final that taking the time to find out what the target wants by making testers and mock-ups as well as questionnaires makes a lot of difference. I also found out that messing with images with filters and effects and coming up with one that is very simple yet very effective can make or brake an image and I’ve also learnt that using corners and lowering the opacity on things and adding gradient maps help make the final piece have that finishing touch
