2. Plot
This short film involves a girl getting ready for
a date and running late. She tries on lots of
different clothes and when she goes to the
bathroom to apply her make –up suddenly
realises her skin has turned like plastic. She
continues to move her skin around making
herself look more attractive from her point of
view. When she goes out on the date she
doesn’t appear to look any different.
3. Sound
Throughout this short film there is minimal
talking except for when the girl in on the
phone and when her date arrives, it’s mainly
just her talking to herself. There is a
soundtrack used in the short film when she’s
re-arranging herself which makes the feel of
the film a lot happier and fun however, there
are also parts where the film is silent which
creates suspense in the scene.
4. Editing and camera work
Lots of close ups are used in this short film to
show the parts of the body the girl changed and
close ups of objects which have meanings
throughout the short film such as, the butterfly,
face cream and necklace. The audience don’t see
the girl fully until the end of the short film when
she’s made all the changes. In terms of editing
this short film is clever as it manages to
completely change the look of the girl. There are
a lot of jump cuts ruining the realism of the film
and panning shots are used quite often, showing
the girl pacing around her room.
5. Conclusion
I don’t think I will make something like this for
my production as it will be hard to create
something so unrealistic without the
equipment. However I do like the idea of not
having much talking in the short film and
relying on a soundtrack to portray the tone
and emotions of the short film.
