 After serving as an FBI special agent and US Marine Corps
officer, John Guandolo founded UnderstandingTheThreat.com
to provide counterterrorism and threat management training to
local enforcement agencies. John Guandolo also supports the
military community as a member of The American Legion.
In a recent press release, The American Legion announced that
war veterans from across the world gathered in Baltimore Aug.
27–Sept. 3, 2015, for the 97th National Convention of The
American Legion. The chairman of The American Legion
National Convention Commission noted that approximately
10,000 members and their families participated in the event,
attending three separate, simultaneous conventions: the Sons of
the American Legion convention, the American Legion Auxiliary
convention, and The American Legion convention.

3. American Legion
 Over the course of eight days, participants experienced
a wide range of event activities.
The American Legion previously convened in
Baltimore in 1989, and this year, Legionnaires once
again occupied the city as they attended business
seminars at the downtown Baltimore Convention
Center. Along with booking approximately 17,000
room nights, Legionnaires and their families were
expected to infuse between $13 million and $15 million
into the local economy through tourism, shopping,
and dining.
