My research describes the legal structures and use patterns regulating land and water in coastal urban zones. The goal is to explain how different use behaviors can emerge on different scales, whether from case, statutory or regulatory laws, policy guidance, agency reviews, or local norms. How do legal processes guide urban planning, develop and management? How does law influence different communities relationship with ecosystem services and biodiversity? Trans-disciplinary and intercultural approaches include; Legal Anthropology, Comparative Law and Economics, Network and Complex Systems Analysis, Statistics, Sabermetrics and Data Analytics.
