• She was such an energetic and kind

Her other passion was painting.
Against her parents, she went abroad to
Paris to study art.
During learning she met Polish man –
Kazimierz Dunin Markiewicz who quickly
became her husband.
Even though her parents wanted her to
marry someone from rich family, she said
that she is happy only with Kazimierz.

5. Constance participated in many action to get the
independence of Ireland, for example Easter Rising.
Some of them were Sinn Féin, Fianna Éireann.
Besides that she was Inghinidhe na hÉireann which
meant Ireland’s Daughter.
It was a feministic organisation which also tried to reach
sovereignty.

6. He was an Irish poet who was born
in 13th June 1865 in Dublin.
Yeats was an important person in
Constance life.
He get on with her and Goore –
Booths family really well.
He was visiting them very often.
William Butler was also a person
who had shown Constance some
ideas which helped her in later life.

prison twice.
• She always wrote her surname
Markieiwcz with ‚v’ instead of ‚w’.
• Her sister wrote lots of lines about
Constance.
• Stories about her and Kazimierz
were favourite of all Irish stories in
those days.
• She was the first woman who was
assistant of commander (other
women were cooks or nurses)
8. Constance died in Dublin,
15th July 1927 at age of 59.
Cause of her death was
appendictis. Her funeral
took place at Glasnevin
Cementery. There were
100 000 people who went
there to say goodbye for
the last time to her.
