ICT Role in 21st Century Education & its Challenges.pptx
Multimedia in the classroom
1.
2. The tool I found most useful is Voicethread. The intuitive
format and the ability to take premade slides and upload
them makes this tool user friendly.
I also appreciate the variety of ways the creator or
contributor can comment on the presentation. A
recording is probably the most effective format, but
typing comments is an easy way to support those
without recording capabilities.
3. Successes: Use of Picmonkey to edit photos. I
am familiar with photo editing sites and am fairly
comfortable editing a photo. Learning about
Picmonkey was a nice addition to the programs
I currently use. It is a very easy and accessible
site to use for editing and I’m happy with the
results.
4. Challenges: Although Windows Moviemaker
was not a challenge to use, I wanted to
increase my knowledge by using actual video
footage instead of photos to create a movie.
This was more challenging than photos and
after watching several tutorials I found my
version was not up-to-date. In the end, I chose
to use photos because the product will more
useful in my classroom.
5. Online learning is dependent on how much
the learner wants to gain from the
experience. I usually find that online learning
yields similar results as the traditional face to
face class. Those that choose to spend time
researching, reading, and reflecting often
learn the most from an online class.
6. Although Moodle has been voted one of the
most preferred online learning platforms, I
don’t like the disjointed interface. I’m always
clicking around to find return to a previous
section or jump through sections. I found the
Topics/Modules set up in this class easy to
use and navigable. Moodle isn’t ‘pretty’ but I
guess it gets the job done.
