How Jersey Shore is the same as B2b Social Media



It sounds crazy, we thought so also, but the deeper we looked at the comparison we saw that the Jersey
Shore is exactly like B2b Social Media.

At the Jersey Shore you have a lot of Broskis and Broettes. They are starting to move away from the
Jersey Shore, so you have probably seen 1 or 2 in your neighborhood. They can be identified by their
tan, almost orange skin color, Ed Hardy clothes and their love for GTL.

Like the rest of us the Broskis and Broettes use Facebook, Twitter and Social Media in general, but they
use it like no one else. Because of this we have coined the term Brocial Media.

Brocial Media consists of a lot of tweeting while at the gym, checking in from the tanning bed, and
Instagram pictures of Jager Bombs. This is scary by itself, but let me explain to you the comparisons
between the Jersey Shore and B2b Social Media; you might pick up and move to Iowa.

So at the Jersey Shore you have the Broskis, and they go out every night to the club fist-pumping all
night long. When they go out their goal is to find the DTF chicks, it is a hunt for them. They talk to a
bunch of different people until they find the right one, very similar to how your Social Media Manager
networks with people all day long on Social Media trying to find that potential client. While at the club
searching for chicks, the Broskis have to dodge the grenades, much like a real grenade they are
something you don’t want to mess with. Grenades are the equivalent to trolls on social media, just
existing to ruin the game you are spitting.

While at the Jersey Shore the Broskis and Broettes crowd into a house together and it there can
sometimes be friction between the housemates. This is exactly the tension that sometimes exists
between the Social Media Manager, the sales team, the web developers and the digital marketing team.
In the Jersey Shore you don’t want to carry these issues over into the start of a new week because that
type of stress it not good for your blowout. Because of this the Broskis and Broettes usually have Sunday
dinner so that they can air their differences, and hash out all the issues, probably similar to the Thirsty
Thursday or Happy Hour Friday that exists in many marketing offices.

I told you it was scary how similar the Jersey Shore and B2b Social Media are, and now that you know
what a Broskis, Broettes, and Brocial Media are you can protect yourself you can build a strategy like
they do to avoid grenades, find the perfect DTF chick, and squash the tension in your office.

Brocial Media consists of a lot of tweeting while at the gym, checking in from the tanning bed, and Instagram pictures of Jager Bombs. This is scary by itself, but let me explain to you the comparisons between the Jersey Shore and B2b Social Media; you might pick up and move to Iowa. So at the Jersey Shore you have the Broskis, and they go out every night to the club fist-pumping all night long. When they go out their goal is to find the DTF chicks, it is a hunt for them. They talk to a bunch of different people until they find the right one, very similar to how your Social Media Manager networks with people all day long on Social Media trying to find that potential client. While at the club searching for chicks, the Broskis have to dodge the grenades, much like a real grenade they are something you don’t want to mess with. While at the Jersey Shore the Broskis and Broettes crowd into a house together and it there can sometimes be friction between the housemates. This is exactly the tension that sometimes exists between the Social Media Manager, the sales team, the web developers and the digital marketing team. In the Jersey Shore you don’t want to carry these issues over into the start of a new week because that type of stress it not good for your blowout. Because of this the Broskis and Broettes usually have Sunday dinner so that they can air their differences, and hash out all the issues, probably similar to the Thirsty Thursday or Happy Hour Friday that exists in many marketing offices.
