What the statistics of mobile users suggests is that people are using their smartphones a whole lot for looking up information, shopping and Web Apps. The increase in numbers in comparison to previous years has to do with the technology being more accessible. As previously mentioned, the reason the
technology has become more accessible is basically because in the computer world, hardware prices go down almost by half within a year to 18-months. Room needs to be made for the new technology to be sold. Out with the old and in with the new as the old saying goes.
!Because of these reasons, a lot of people now have access to cheap smart phones. Going by the figures aforementioned one could predict that the increase of mobile usage is on a steady rise and will continue to rise because, simply put - consumers have more access to their phones than their personal
computers. That’s why they take their phones to the bathroom - yours truly included.

What do these figures say about mobile web design? It says it needs to be done well in order to engage visitors the first time they visit your mobile site. If not your site could be one of the sites that people talk about on Facebook or Twitter suggesting it’s no good due to bad design. For obvious reasons all
companies, especially a company like L.A Outback needs a good mobile site that caters to its visitors as well as being easy and simple to use. The last thing you want to do as a company is make a mobile site that deters your customers.
!Mobile has impacted web design in a huge way. Developers must think small when it comes to making web pages for smartphones and tablets because they do not have the same amount of screen “real estate” compared to a desktop or a laptop. Everything needs to be made smaller and simpler because
clutter needs to be reduced. When someone visits a mobile site, they are given are given the most popular options from the full site to choose from. At the same time they have more buttons to touch as opposed to links to click on due to how small the screen is. It is easier to touch a button when browsing a
mobile site than it is to touch a link. Those are just some of the things that designers and developers must think about when building sites. Mobile has forever changed the way in which we access the internet and the way developers design websites.

L.A Outback to develop a mobile site that reflect the full website. Not only would that increase sales but it would also make the company more popular through free advertising and marketing because a lot of mobile users are constantly sharing their web activity via Social Media
9. What Current Technologies can be used to Make
Websites Accessible on All Devices?
• User Agent Detector
• DeviceAtlas
• WURFL (Wireless
Universal Resource File)

Making your website more accessible to mobile devices does not require much. Some of the tools available to automatically detect the type of device that your visitors are using are readily available and if you want to keep it simple you can just code it. User Agent Detector helps the web server know what
type of device and its capabilities every visitor is using. DeviceAtlas and WURFL work a little differently than User Agent Detector but they do basically the same thing. The technology is there, it’s up to you to make a decision now to start designing your site to cater to mobile users. These are some of the top
technologies to choose from that are recommended by the industry. It’s what I would suggest your business to use in order to start making your site more mobile user friendly.
