 Ask a friend or neighbour to keep an eye on
your place, bring in your mail, feed your pets,
and water your plants while you are away —
bribing them with cupcakes helps.
 Leave your blinds and curtains exactly as
you would keep them if you were at home.
Noticeable changes could hint that you are
not around anymore.
 The same goes for your lights. Leaving a light
on the entire time you are gone will signal
that you are not home. If you are worried
about security, you can always put your lights
on a timer.
 Unplug toasters, computers, and other
appliances to protect them from
power surges.
 That plastic rock isn’t fooling anyone!
Remove your spare key from its hiding spot
while you are away.
 Empty your refrigerator of perishables.
 Make sure all of your doors and windows
are closed and locked (don’t forget the
doggie door!).
 Store all valuables in a safe place.
 Turn your heat or air conditioning down (no
need to heat or cool a space you won’t be in!).

ROAD TRIP BINGOROAD TRIP BINGO
Road Trip Bingo can be played anywhere on the highway, no matter what your destination!
When you spot an item in the pictures on your trip, simply check off the square. The rules? Up
to you! The prize? We suggest ice cream.
If you are planning on playing with multiple players, either photocopy this page before you
leave, or have each player draw a different symbol in a corner of each box (like a checkmark,
star, or triangle) when they spot the items. Have fun!

Literally reached the edge of the world, standing at mile zero of yellowhead...” #summer #roadtrip #yellowhead #yellowheadhighway #GOYH #travel #adventure Road Trip Tip: Pack a Frisbee, soccer ball, or football to play with when you pull over for a break at a rest stop. #GOYH — @GoYellowhead To all the communities along the Yellowhead Highway, what special events are happening in your area for Father’s Day on June 21? Share them with us, and we’ll spread them around to our followers! Editorial Features Include: • Before you leave checklist • What to pack in your emergency kit • Fun & games to keep the little ones entertained • Gigantic roadside attractions • Trips that take you just off the highway for a unique adventure • National and provincial parks • Fantastic festivals • Must-see attractions + More! Share Your Adventure With Us  Ask a friend or neighbour to keep an eye on your place, bring in your mail, feed your pets, and water your plants while you are away — bribing them with cupcakes helps.  Leave your blinds and curtains exactly as you would keep them if you were at home. Noticeable changes could hint that you are not around anymore.  The same goes for your lights. Leaving a light on the entire time you are gone will signal that you are not home. If you are worried about security, you can always put your lights on a timer.  Unplug toasters, computers, and other appliances to protect them from power surges.  That plastic rock isn’t fooling anyone! Remove your spare key from its hiding spot while you are away.  Empty your refrigerator of perishables.  Make sure all of your doors and windows are closed and locked (don’t forget the doggie door!).  Store all valuables in a safe place.  Turn your heat or air conditioning down (no need to heat or cool a space you won’t be in!). Before You Leave 10 thingsto have in your Emergency Kit 1. Flashlight 2. Batteries 3. Jumper cables 4. Antifreeze 5. Small shovel 6. Scraper and snowbrush 7. Candles and matches 8. Tow rope 9. When you spot an item in the pictures on your trip, simply check off the square. The rules? Up to you! The prize? We suggest ice cream. If you are planning on playing with multiple players, either photocopy this page before you leave, or have each player draw a different symbol in a corner of each box (like a checkmark, star, or triangle) when they spot the items.
