Zena Khan worked under my supervision at the South Orange County Medical Research Center, where
I worked as Medical Director, from May 2011 through April 30, 2013, when I left this position in order
to move to Maryland. Zena served as an Assistant Coordinator and Document Specialist in our research
unit, beginning in a supporting role to the senior coordinators, later developing as a highly competent
coordinator herself. She was extremely efficient in managing complex data required in our many Phase
2, 3, and 4 clinical trials, was a self-­starter and a self-­learner, and was highly regarded by her peers.
During her tenure she accepted and succeeded at increasing amounts of responsibility, and was
functioning near the level of a full coordinator by the time I left, while she continued to work for South
Orange County Medical Research Center thereafter.
