- 2. Thank you for attending today’s workshop. Smartphone, Internet and computing has changed and enriched our lives in an infinite number of ways. World events and our personal lives are recorded and documented as they happen. Pictures, videos, and our location may be instantly available to the world. Please be aware of safety, security, and courtesy when using your smartphone. Using a Smartphone is easy, fun, and rewarding. No sophisticated programming needed. However, lots of curiosity is very helpful. Forward
- 3. Texting doesn’t work with walking, driving, and biking. Remember the day when it could wait to the next pay phone or until we got home and dialed on a rotary phone? Be Safe! Safety
- 4. Passcodes: A secure passcode has capital letters, small letters, numbers, and characters. In Settings under lock screen – you may set a pin or swipe to unlock your phone. Buy a cover to protect your phone in the event it is dropped. Security

- 6. Battery Life on Smartphones is limited. Make provisions by having a power chord available to recharge depending on where you are. Also use the Power save application. Power
- 7. Shop for Rates on Data Plans and Texting. Design your rate plan around your needs! Some have unlimited others have specific limitations. Read the fine print! Rates
- 8. The Basics Pin or Swipe unlock your phone

- 12. To Make a Phone Call Swipe on the phone icon Dial the number and press the green phone symbol
- 13. Add Contacts Swipe the Contacts Icon Swipe the + button Add the contact information
- 14. Take a Video Press on the Camera Icon. Choose video or camera. Point and press the button to shoot.
- 15. “The Selfie” Press on the Camera Icon. Choose video or camera. Position the lens. Point and press the button to shoot.
- 16. Sending a Photo Press on the Gallery Choose Share
- 17. Sending a Photo Select Your Photo Share Choose in which way you share
- 18. Sending a Photo Complete the action via the method you choose. (i.e. Facebook or Email. )

- 25. Weather Apps Radar Now can let you know if that cloud sell with rain on your picnic.
- 26. Games and BooksGreat Free Ones! Just press install! Android does the rest!
- 27. Phone Locator If it’s lost or stolen – Easy Android Phone Locator The EAPL (Easy Android Phone Locator) allows the positioning of your mobile phone via text message. This app is for free and does not contain any ads! No Internet connection needed! If your mobile gets lost, you can very easy determinate the location. It is enough to send a text message to the phone. Automatic answer with Google Maps link will be sent.
