ABSTRACT
Association of South East Asian Nations
(ASEAN) including Thailand as one of the
members agree to establish an ASEAN
Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 in order to
increase opportunities for economics, services,
investments, and labors among the ASEAN
countries. Thus for, the defined knowledge of
cultural and social differences among the
members’ countries is considered to be
important.
The virtual museum is simulating media offered
through the website which learners would not
only gain interesting, but also enhance learners
to construct their own knowledge through this
learning experience. In addition, such experience
would well enhance the understanding of social
and cultural differences, such as, the way of life,
populations’ characteristics, and cultural
differences, equivalent to the traditional
museum.
This article will discuss the definition, types, and
examples of virtual museum. The article will also
discuss the learning activities along with the use
of virtual museum for teachers who are
interested in applying such activities to enhance
the understanding of social and cultural
differences. These would prepare student to be
readiness towards ASEAN Community in the
near future.
