2. Similar Shapes
• Two shapes are said to be similar to each
other if one is an enlargement of the other.

• Two shapes are said to be congruent if they
stay the same shape and size
• The shapes may be a reflection of each other,
or be rotated or translated

1. On coloured paper, create four different
Congruent shapes and four different Non-congruent
shapes.
2. Cut them up
3. Give your shapes to a partner to place as
Congruent or Non-congruent.
4. Paste your new shapes into your book and
explain why each shape is Congruent or Non-congruent
