Question 1 media powwrpoint
1. Question 1- in what ways does your media
product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
I have chose 5 frame from my media filming which well incorporate or
challenge the conventions of my crime film. This will show how I been
influenced by other crime genre.
2. Frame 1 – titling
For the titling of my products I used some simplistic
and easy to read texts. Which challenge of the typical
crime genre texts of which is usually unquiet and got
its own touch to it which set in a part from the other
films compare to my simple ordinary white texts. But
the texts is conventions for been simple and essay to
read which is similar to other crime genre films. Such
as godfather which I used for this example with the
images of the main title for the film
3. Frame 2 Setting/ locations
For this frame I look at outside an car window while
recording. I did this so the audience can have an sense of
the location like there watching the character go there them
self. With my shot show the character driving past an house
on the street will small old looking house give the audience
maybe ideas where the locations is to keep them engage
and thinking about it as reveal more as the tailor goes on.
Which is quite different compare to other crime film which
normal tell us exactly where we are with an introduction of
murder or other crime in an city for example.
Similar to my productions is the Transporter showing
him driving throw woods to show setting of the
country side and has similar effect too making
audience feel they are in the car with the characters
and keep the audience interested I the film as I try to
make with my productions.
4. How the characters are introduced I have introduced the main character with an wide shot to clear
show who it is and to show he a surrounding and putting him the
centre frame to show he the most significate. so the audience
can get a feel the character as an police offers on duty checking
the areas for crime or disruptions. I have used this shot to also
show the surrounding so also can get an better fell for the as he
doing his job this is conventions for the genre having some one
fighting crime but represented different for us watching him
almost like some one is out to get him or is he real the good guy
I have done this so the audience will like and respect the
character as he doing his job and protecting us form crime so he
seem to be the hero an character which the audience will like
and connect with.
This is similar to the example of hot fuzz with an main
character as a police offer in his uniform with other
police men. But this is show different to the way I
present my character was as he was being watch
compare to hot fuzz as an great police man and its like
you are there talking with them compare to my it like
where with the antagonist watching him.
5. How genre introduced
For my fourth frame I added something which would
make it easy for audience link images with the genre
with the images of someone holding an knife to shows it
an crime genre film and to keep the audience is engage
in what going to happen after they have seen the
weapon
Another example in a different film is
Goodfellers with the injured person in the
boot of the car so the ‘gangsters’ get there
weapons and killed him installed showing to
the audience what type of film this is.
6. How suspense is created
With my finally frame I created some suspense as we
are watching the character the good guy the police.
Which get the audience thinking what going to
happen is he going to get jump? Hurt? Or worse
killed?. I did this to keep the audience thing about it
and to created the right environment for my
productions
An example in another film is dirty harry as
you see the women going swimming but throw
the scope of the gun as you are watching her
as she going to be killed. Which is used to
make the audience exactly as the director
intend to as I try to do with him being watch.
