What Is Sorrel?
         The sorrel is cultivated in all tropical region of the world.
It is an annual fruit grown on a small plant about 2 and 2,5 metres tall.
Flowers are either white or pale yellow with a dark red spot at the base
                of the petal. They are about 8-10cm long.
           The sorrel is propagated by direct sowing of seeds.
What Does It Look Like?


•   The plant produces bright red fruit as it
    matures, which takes about six months

•   When flowers fall down, a beautiful red
             chalice shows up.
How To Use Sorrel?

•   Usually it is used as a food colouring, or syrup.
•   The green leaves are eating as spinach.
•   The sorrel can also be used in medicine as a diuretic, mild laxative, treatment for
    cardiac, nerve disease and cancer.
Sorrel Juice
o Ingredients:

          Fresh or dried sorrel,
           20 grams or 5 flowers
          Syrup 30 grams (or 2 table spoon)
          Water 200 ml
          Salt 2 grams

o How to make juice:

1.   Clean the sorrel with water, boil in water.
2.    Slow the fire and simmer until it gets the very red colour juice.
3.   Take away the flower, add syrup and sugar in juice and continue simmering for 1
     minute.
4.   Serve as a warm or cool drink.
