The document discusses ideas for a music video about love, including incorporating a rose that gets destroyed to represent a broken heart, filming parts at the Southbank and Brick Lane locations known for their diversity and urban style, and using a mobile camera and close-ups like in other artists' music videos to convey emotion through the singer's expressions.
1. Where did the ideas
come from?
We looked at a few videos and we then
began to think of what our video should look
like.
2. ‘The Rose’ idea:
We thought that we could incorporate a rose in the video since it is about
love. We got this idea from Beyoncé’s music video ‘Broken Hearted-girl’
where she is pulling apart a beautiful rose. We though of perhaps having a
similar concept where the rose would be beautiful at the beginning of the
video and by the end of the video it would look awful and destroyed.
3. What Locations?
We watched Will.i.am’s video ‘This is Love’
and we thought that the Southbank would
be a fantastic place to film a part of our
video. This location is perfect as it goes with
our style which is quite urban and it is not
too busy yet there are sufficient people.
I have also recently found out that Ellie Goulding
has been shooting a music video in Brick Lane. When
we heard about this, we thought that Brick Lane
would be an excellent place not only because our
original artist filmed there but also because it is a
very diverse place and it is exactly what we were
looking for.
4. Camera work ideas:
We thought that One Direction’s self
made video was quite like something
we wanted to have. We noticed the
camera was hardly ever static and
that it always followed the singers
around and that is what we are
aiming for.
The use of close ups will be crucial to show
the singer’s emotion since the message of
our song is quite melancholy although the
song is quite an upbeat song.
