 Verizon is the seller of wireless cell phones and services for
America
 Have over 79,000 employees nationwide
 Own over 2000 stores
 Are keeping an average of 101.1 million customers

3. History of the Company 1960-1990
 1962- United States sends up a telecommunication satellite,
sending the first short television clip between the U.S. and
France
 1968- Bell system works with fire chiefs, police officers, and
the courts to set up the 9-11 service

4. History of the Company 1990-2000
 1991- GTE buys Contel Corp. making it the 6th largest
wireless provider in the United States
 1999- Bell merges with Vodafone to create the largest
wireless company in the united states

5. History of the Company 2000-Now
 2000- Verizon Wireless Company is born by Bell
Atlantic and GTE merging.
 2004- Verizon Wireless joins the Dow Jones Industrial
Average
 2009- Verizon Wireless buys Alltel

 Very popular throughout America because of its marketing
 Strong network
 Steadily growing as a corporation
 Are spreading to businesses
 Amazing internet coverage
 Keeping up with high technological phones

 Their only coverage only goes throughout the United
States- not a worldwide company yet
 Coverage does not cover all of America

10. SWOT Analysis of Verizon: Opportunities
 Can further expand into other countries
 Can buy other smaller phone companies to expand
 Possible expansion into conferencing availability
 New phones and products coming out every year

 Big competition market to be in
 May be a threat of other companies merging to compete
 Economy can bring down business
