Creating a Social Learning Environment using ZOHO Creator
1. Social Learning
How to develop a
Environment With Zoho Creator
2. The Assignment:
Locate 3 journal articles on the
topic of the week, summarize them,
and share them with the class. Then
read everyone else’s summaries.
*Adapted from Mike Wesch’s 94 articles activity:
http://mediatedcultures.net/ksudigg/?p=202
3. To do so, we’ll create a form in Zoho Creator
for students to fill out.
4. Then, we’ll configure a page that displays all the student
entered article summaries (called the view)
12. Interpersonal Comm. Bibliography
1. Name your application (can be anything - I used the course number)
2. Name the form you’re creating (I called it Bibliography)
3. Click ‘create from scratch’
4. Click the ‘create now’ button. This will generate a page that looks like this:
13. Create the form by dragging & dropping fields into the blank workspace
(one at a time) and configuring each.

Multi Line Field
19. Once you drag a field onto the workspace, a configuration window will
pop up. Label each field (in this case I’m creating a dropdown list so
students can pick the topic of the week). Clicking ‘Options’ will let you
customize your form further (handy but not necessary).
20. Click ‘This is required field’ if you want to make sure students don’t submit
the form without filling out this field. You can also enter instructions to
students under ‘Appearance’

38. View as: Select ‘List’
* By default the view will display information for each field, which may make the page
look crowded. For that reason you may want to hide some fields by clicking ‘Show/
Hide Columns.’ The data will still be there for you to view when logged in, but your
students won’t see it.
