"As the main final conclusion of the Basque City-Region case-study in the project www.cityregions.org: This paper seeks to make a pragmatic proposal set against the background of sustainability transitions in the context of climate change, specifically taking into consideration the geography of the Basque Autonomous Community, and highlighting the existence of Challenges and Obstacles between the infrastructure and natural resources in their urban environments. Likewise, bearing in mind the spatial configuration of the urban environment that is created jointly by the Basque geographies and known as “Basque City” —which has been designed and implemented over the past decade from an institutional framework—, and by a specific spatial strategy (to be precise from the DOT/LAA Spatial Planning Directives) of the Sub-Ministry for Spatial Planning of the Government of the Basque Autonomous Community), the author's main contribution is as follows: Basque City-Region consistent with the conclusions in the Scientific Directive of last year’s Congress “Euskal Hiria 2012 — Ciudad-Región Vasca — Basque City-Region” and bearing in mind the content of this year’s congress, it can be said, when studying the dynamics of the promoters, that: (a) so far, limited and erroneous use has been made under the terms of the “Euskal Hiria” institutional brand, (b) DOT/LAA-Spatial Planning Directives, there have been some specific spatial strategies in connection with the City-Region concept, which take growth as the only paradigm into consideration, and which have led to Balances and Imbalances among the stakeholders, and (c) what is needed is a far-reaching contribution from Social Innovation with a true model of Governance to guide processes for change in Social Capital and Transitions towards Sustainability in the context of Climate Change. There is no doubt that diffuse geographies like the Urban Centre and, specifically, the City-Region, inevitably need spatial strategies that will drive forward dynamics that will continually explore possibilities for transformation. The immediate role of cities, as social–ecological and technical networks, is to explore their transformability capacities by strengthening their social capital and fostering opportunities in the process of change. Therefore, in a nutshell, what question would the paper be seeking to answer? This one: by analysing the Policies and Strategies in Spatial Planning of the Government of the Basque Autonomous Community in a long period of 10 years: How could we incorporate the lessons of Social Innovation to achieve a model of Governance suited to the Basque City-Region in the Transitions towards Sustainability in the Context of Climate Change? What would these Spatial Strategies shared and agreed upon among all the players be? The ecosocial crisis we are involved in for the last decades demands an urgent change in the way human being deals with nature. Arguably, the hegemonic economic system cannot continue the same for long, since it entails a kind o colonialism that exploits land, communities, and natural resources beyond the possibilities of restoration. It is also arguable that western positivist science has contributed to this system, both justifying productivity over sustainability and creating a symbolic distance with colonized Peoples all around the globe, justifying therefore the exploitation of the land. It has been defended the need for an epistemological dialogue with agents that directly manage the territory, as those of the countryside. This work starts a common path that is purposed for grassroots organizations from rural environments and higher educators based on service-learning. We aim to analyze the motives, positions, and cultural practices of those grassroots organizations. We have performed two focus groups on videoconference, with 15 participants from 14 organizations. Topics on the relationship between education, sustainability, and the rural environment where discussed and recorded to inductive-deductive content analysis. The study was open to the participation of people from the organizations in the whole research process. In the discussion, we can see a critic to an educational system at the service of the hegemonic economic system, as well as a purpose for the naturalization, humanization, and diversification of both the economic and educational systems. The rural environment appears as a field of opportunity to develop practices of interdependence and ecodependence.

Notable milestones included the success of Google's AlphaGo and advancements in autonomous vehicles by companies like Tesla and Waymo. A major theme of the presentation is the application of generative AI, which has been used for tasks such as natural language text generation, translation, and question answering. Generative AI uses large datasets to train models that can then produce new, coherent pieces of text or other media. The presentation also discusses the ethical implications and the need for regulation in AI, highlighting issues such as privacy, bias, and the potential for misuse. These concerns have prompted calls for comprehensive regulations to ensure the safe and equitable use of AI technologies. Artificial intelligence has also played a significant role in healthcare, particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it was used in drug discovery, vaccine development, and analyzing the spread of the virus. The capabilities of AI in healthcare are vast, ranging from medical diagnostics to personalized medicine, demonstrating the technology's potential to revolutionize fields beyond just technical or consumer applications. In conclusion, AI continues to be a rapidly evolving field with significant implications for various aspects of society. The development from theoretical concepts to real-world applications illustrates both the potential benefits and the challenges that come with integrating advanced technologies into everyday life. The ongoing discussion about AI ethics and regulation underscores the importance of managing these technologies responsibly to maximize their their benefits while minimizing potential harms.

It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine.
