3. Questions The setting of this story is rural Ontario. Using details from the story, describe what life in this area was like at that time? Why do you think the narrator never mentions the bully’s name? Why do you think the bully went on tormenting him? Could the boy have behaved in some way to make the bully stop? If so, what should he have done? The bully was not the narrator’s only problem that year. What were some of the others? What parts of the story strike you as humorous?
