2. Real Friends are an American pop-punk band
formed in 2020, from Tinley Park, Illinois.
The EP cover for ‘Put Yourself Back
Together’, released in 2013, shows a pile of
old and broken items left in the road or on
the side of a street. This links to the cd title
as it suggests that although everything is
broken and needs fixing or putting back
together.
The items used in the image also connote
the ‘typical’ pop-punk style, such as Vans and
chequered shirts.
3. The inside of the digipak shows continuity through the use of similar images. The two inside sections of the case
could be showing a before and after scenario. The two images on the left show the telephone, clock, shoes and
clothes, before they were broken. Whereas the image on the right shows a contrast, showing a zoomed in
version of the image used on the cover, showing the items to be scattered everywhere and broken.
The top left of the inside cover shows text on a pale cream background, with a faded image of the items behind
it. The colour used is similar to the shoes, clock and telephone, which shows a clear colour theme and continuity
throughout.
4. The back cover of the cd shows further shows
continuity, with the use of a similar image to the
front and inside of the digipak.
It gives brief details about the contents of the cd,
stating that the songs are about loneliness and
sadness and ‘when all of the pieces fall apart, you
have to put yourself back together’.
The track listing is in a bold white font, which is
easily read against the darker background.
The image used shows the items neat and broken
again, which highlights the message on the back of
the cd.
The shot used highlights the background of the
image, which shows a road. This could be symbolic
of the fact that even if things look bad or are
broken, you can move past it.
The back of the cd also contains the common
features of a digipak, for example the bar code, and
information about who distributed the cd.
