been describe as the fusion between the genres
Electro and House. Electro House has no specific
origin, however varied influences can come from the
1980’s pop, synthpop, tech house and also
electroclash.
Typical instruments used to create Electro House
include, drum machines, sequencers, synthesizers,
keyboards and also personal computers.

3. Characteristics of Electro House
Electro House can often contain elements such
as prominent baselines, either minimum or
medium amounts of percussion and also short,
high pitched rifts.
This genre can also contain vocals and
instrumentals, unlike say the genre of tech house.
Compositions can also contain harsh bass (often
know the fans of this genre as a ‘dirty base’)
sound which is created from saw waves with
distortion and compression.
4. Artists relation to Electro House
Early songs that have been classed as Electro House include,
‘The arrival’ by the Arrivers (1996) and ‘Raw Sh*t’ by Bassment
Jaxx (1997).
More recent artists that can be associated with the genre are
Porter Robinson, David Guetta, Knife Party and Skrillex.
2005 saw the increase in popularity of Electro House, with artists
like David Guetta being born. In 2006 the Electro House tune
‘Put your hands up for detriot’ by Fedde Le Grand went to
number one in the UK Top 40 Chart.
