The Youth Volunteer Forum 2008 provides an opportunity for new immigrant youth ages 14 to 21 to find volunteer positions and complete their required 40 hours of community service. The forum allows youth to learn new skills, feel satisfaction from giving back, and increase their job and networking opportunities. Guest speaker Dr. Eric Hoskins will share his experience working as a physician in war zones and with humanitarian organizations. Participating volunteer organizations include AIDS Network – Hamilton, Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton, Canadian Cancer Society, CNIB, Central West Region, and Green Venture.
