2. Tess Hinterbichler Area of Interest: I am an Apparel Design Major whose interests lie within fashion illustration, computer aided design programs and garment construction. Inspirations: I was inspired by the architecture of the Musée du Louvre in Paris, which is both modern and traditional. Functionality and innovation are two key terms that come to my mind when dealing with technology. The function or purpose of my technology is transformation. I incorporated wire into certain seam-lines of my garments so that they can be morphed into a different look. That is what technology is meant for, to make life a little bit easier, a little more fun and a little more carefree! Designers/Heros: My hero is my mom, for making every sacrifice she could in order to guarantee my well-being. I was inspired by designers such as Sonia Rykeil, Ellie Saab, Jason Wu and Philip Lim. Credits and Thank Yous: Thank you to my family, for making me tough, and to my friends, for making me laugh. Thank you to my teachers for guiding me in the right direction and to my models for helping this dream come true!
3. Brittany Irene Blaise Chonka Area Of interest: Costumes, Theatric Design, and the Over the Top expression of life through fashion. Taking fashion to the next level both virtually and in reality. Inspirations:Steampunk and Neo-Victorian style, idea of being “buckled” into fashion, and the illumination of life through a theatrical fashion. Designers / Heroes: Alexander Mcqueen, Skingraft Designs, the twisted humor and beauty of Tim Burton and his films, and the infamous Queen Elizabeth. Credits & Thank Yous: Bravo to my parents and Nick for their never ending support, my grandmother for blessing me with my creativity, my beautiful models, the entire fashion faculty for pushing me over the edge and back, Shenlei Winkler, my fairy godmother, and to Asif, for continuous faith and security in my chaotic world. 6. Lyudmila Kennedy Area of interest: Apparel and textile design, also I would love to design shoes. Inspiration: in my collection I wanted to show complexity of the female character. I used leather and lace to represent toughness and femininity. To me a modern woman is not just feminine or sexy or strong or tuff. She is all of it combined. Right now there’s a big fascination with intelligent textiles- fabrics that change their performance characteristics in response to the environment. I am using Luminex (fiber optic fabric that omits light) to show the advance in technology and textiles. Designers/ heroes: I love the edge and funkiness of Balmain-he is an absolute genius. My mother is always going to be my hero. She is one incredible women. Thanks and credits: I am thankful for my friends, family, and teachers who believed in me and pushed me when I wanted to give up.
