Turbine Management Systems

We build our TMS-1000 utilizing the Allen Bradley®
ControlLogix® platform, one the most advanced
programmable controller platforms available today,in order
to take advantage of the latest in distributed control
philosophy.

Turbine Technology Services supplies a complete
package of engineering, hardware, and technical support to
complete the control system upgrade, which includes overall
system design; all controller and operator interface
hardware, software, and installation drawings; instruction
manuals; and technical direction for system commissioning.

Frequency Conversion – Kuwait

•Four - Frame 7EA turbine-generator sets in 2009
•Made history being first company to engineer and install Frame
7EA turbine-generators in a 50HZ country
•Required long and complex engineering process, much had to be
performed on site
•Frequency conversion required the addition of:
•Gearbox, auxiliaries and generator modifications
•Plant layout engineering, generator design and protection
•Plant electrical design and diesel starting systems
•Modifications to all on base auxiliaries and control
engineering
•Further complicated by need to replace existing natural gas-
only DLN combustion system with a standard combustor, dual-
fuel and water injected system

• Replace GE MK V system utilizing
commercially available PLC
processors and hardware
• Utilize existing control panel
footprint, install permanent
dynamics monitoring hardware and
provide portable dynamics

Remote Monitoring - Iraq

•52 gas turbines at 13 sites in Iraq
•8 different control systems and 4 different Human-
Machine Interfaces (“HMI”)
•Modbus communication and VSAT data transfer
•Redundant hardware and alarm management

•Historian, trending and archive
•One central monitoring station (“CMS”) with
redundant processors at each site
•Information is compiled from each site, sent via
satellite to the CMS, and translated into a common
protocol for operator monitoring

100 MW Power Barge Construction Completion &
Commissioning – Westinghouse 251B11 Gas Turbine qty 2

•Barge was in storage for over 10 years in a shipyard in Malaysia where it had been
partially constructed.
•Managed dry dock operations in the Philippines including hull work and recertification
•Replaced Turbine Control System with TMS-1000 digital system.
•Replaced Generator Excitation System with Brush A32 digital system.
•Completed HV and MV electrical system installation and commissioning.
•Completed mechanical systems
installation and commissioning.
•Completed instrumentation system
installation, calibration and
commissioning.
•Completed total system
commissioning using a 50MVA load
bank.
•Less than 4 months in duration
•Barge relocated to Luanda, Angola.
