 Each semester, you will login to your student account
in web advisor (https://webadvisor.barry.edu) and
check for any registration HOLDS. Any HOLDS must
be resolved before you can register for the next
semester.
 I will give you permission to register online in web
advisor for your nursing and any missing distribution
courses each semester.
RN-BSN Program Costs
 Tuition:
 Nursing Courses – 28 credits - $12,400 which includes
a technology fee. Tuition ($3,100)to be paid each
semester. Books are not included.
 Biomedical Ethics ( PHI 352) required distribution
course to be taken at Barry University- 3 credits @
$445/credit through PACE = $1,335.00
 Portfolio- due at the end of the third semester of
nursing courses- 29 credits @ $35.00/credit = $1,015
Proficiency Exams
 Students who graduate from Nursing Programs not
regionally accredited by Barry University will need to
take and pass with a grade of “B” three(3) Proficiency
Exams through Excelsior College ; Adult;
Maternal/Child and Mental Health Nursing

end of the third semester of nursing courses- 29

courses, we will make a plan to register for

 If you have to drop a course within the first
weeks of the semester you MUST contact me

for the RN to BSN Program
 Statement of Nursing Goals: (one-page
statement)
 How your BSN education has changed your
philosophy of nursing and clinical practice?
 What are your future goals for nursing education,
practice and research?
 What is your ultimate career goal in nursing?
Nursing Portfolio Requirements
for the RN to BSN Program
 References: (at least one from each of the
following sources)
 Nursing Educator/Professor- statement about your
abilities and accomplishments as a student
professional nurse and potential for graduate
studies. (preceptors are excluded)
 Nursing Clinician or Clinical Educator’s Evaluation-
statement about you clinical abilities,
accomplishments, preceptor skills, clinical ladder
accomplishments, etc.
 Letters must be on the writer’s institution letterhead,
signed and dated. It must be dated after your Barry
start date.
Graduation
1. You must complete a graduation application by logging into your
account in WebAdvisor. I will review your Academic Evaluation and give
you permission to graduate first.
2. The graduation fee is $200.
3. All diploma’s are issued 6-8 weeks after graduation by your choice
either by mail or you can pick up.
4. If you are unsuccessful in a course in your last semester and have paid
your graduation fee it is forfeited. You will have to pay another fee to
graduate.
5. Graduation ceremonies are held at the James L. Knight Center in Miami
in December and May. Graduation without ceremonies are in June, July
and October.

  • 7. Registration  Each semester, you will login to your student account in web advisor (https://webadvisor.barry.edu) and check for any registration HOLDS. Any HOLDS must be resolved before you can register for the next semester.  I will give you permission to register online in web advisor for your nursing and any missing distribution courses each semester.
  • 8. RN-BSN Program Costs  Tuition:  Nursing Courses – 28 credits - $12,400 which includes a technology fee. Tuition ($3,100)to be paid each semester. Books are not included.  Biomedical Ethics ( PHI 352) required distribution course to be taken at Barry University- 3 credits @ $445/credit through PACE = $1,335.00  Portfolio- due at the end of the third semester of nursing courses- 29 credits @ $35.00/credit = $1,015
  • 9. Proficiency Exams  Students who graduate from Nursing Programs not regionally accredited by Barry University will need to take and pass with a grade of “B” three(3) Proficiency Exams through Excelsior College ; Adult; Maternal/Child and Mental Health Nursing https://www.excelsior.edu/  29 credits will be transferred to Barry University at the end of the third semester of nursing courses- 29 credits @ $35.00/credit = $1,015

  • 11. Non Nursing courses  Each semester we will go over your academic evaluation to ensure you are on track to graduate. If you are missing any distribution courses, we will make a plan to register for them.  If you have to drop a course within the first weeks of the semester you MUST contact me to do so. You cannot drop a course by yourself. If you do not drop the course you will be financially liable for the course.
  • 12. University Course Requirements (Distribution) Theology Philosophy 3 courses (3 credits each)= 9 credits  You must take PHI352 (Bio-Medical Ethics) Depending what you transferred in you will need two more courses to complete this section either a philosophy or theology course
  • 13. University Course Requirements Communication 3 courses (3 credits each)= 9 credits  English - ENG 111  English - ENG 112 or 210  Speech - any 3 credit speech course
  • 14. University Course Requirements Science /Math  You must have a minimum of 18 credits  Requirements: Anatomy with Lab Physiology with Lab Microbiology with Lab Chemistry with Lab  Math (Statistics) MAT152/154

University Course Requirements Behavioral/Social Science 3 courses (3 credits each)= 9 credits  One Behavioral and Two Social Sciences OR  Two Behavioral and One Social Science  Behavioral Sciences includes: Anthropology, Psychology or Sociology  Social Sciences includes: Economics, Geography, History, Political Science

University Course Requirements Humanities/Fine Art HU HUM/FINE ART 3 courses (3 credits each)= 9 credits  2 Humanities and 1 Fine Art course OR  1 Humanities and 2 Fine Art courses  Humanities includes: Humanities, Language or Literature course  Fine Art includes: Art, Dance, Music, Photography, or Theater course
  • 17. University Course Requirements COREQ Courses that are required that do not fit in the other categories. 7 credits required  Must take a computer class (3 credits), recommend CS180 (1 credit transfer computer courses do not count)  Elective course – need 4 credits.

Portfolio (ADN Graduates) Nursing Portfolio Requirements for the RN to BSN Program  In order to have the 29 nursing credits (@$35/credit x 29 credits=$1,015) transferred from your ADN Program to your academic record the following portfolio must be submitted as one complete set of documents, by the end of your third semester

Nursing Portfolio Requirements for the RN to BSN Program  Complete professional resume, to include: *Name and Title, Address, Telephone, Email address *Professional Employment History (date, place, position most recent first) *Professional Education (date, place, degree) *Professional Licensure (date issued, number, active or inactive status)  Awards, National Certifications in Nursing  Community Service Activities *Seminars and conferences attended * Mandatory in resume

Nursing Portfolio Requirements for the RN to BSN Program  Statement of Nursing Goals: (one-page statement)  How your BSN education has changed your philosophy of nursing and clinical practice?  What are your future goals for nursing education, practice and research?  What is your ultimate career goal in nursing?
  • 22. Nursing Portfolio Requirements for the RN to BSN Program  References: (at least one from each of the following sources)  Nursing Educator/Professor- statement about your abilities and accomplishments as a student professional nurse and potential for graduate studies. (preceptors are excluded)  Nursing Clinician or Clinical Educator’s Evaluation- statement about you clinical abilities, accomplishments, preceptor skills, clinical ladder accomplishments, etc.  Letters must be on the writer’s institution letterhead, signed and dated. It must be dated after your Barry start date.
  • 23. Graduation 1. You must complete a graduation application by logging into your account in WebAdvisor. I will review your Academic Evaluation and give you permission to graduate first. 2. The graduation fee is $200. 3. All diploma’s are issued 6-8 weeks after graduation by your choice either by mail or you can pick up. 4. If you are unsuccessful in a course in your last semester and have paid your graduation fee it is forfeited. You will have to pay another fee to graduate. 5. Graduation ceremonies are held at the James L. Knight Center in Miami in December and May. Graduation without ceremonies are in June, July and October.
