According to the official website, Fab Lab is the educational outreach component of MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA), an extension of its research into digital fabrication and computation. A Fab Lab is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention, providing stimulus for local entrepreneurship. A Fab Lab is also a platform for learning and innovation: a place to play, to create, to learn, to mentor, to invent. It is bring us from a DIY(do it yourself) era to a DIWO (do it with others) era. It is absolutely a genius idea to create a platform, a community to help people to realize their brilliant idea and encourage innovation. We have also dreams about whether Fab Labs will change our way to consume , will become a force to trigger a new revolution in human society. After a semester of research and several interviews with experts in different fields. We eventually came out with a final report alongside with this 15mins Powerpoint presentation.
