The business need - 1
Preparing contents for a learning simulation is a very resources-consuming task!
Before ImREAL the work was done like this:
• Manual check of disposable content
• Manual matching of potentially relevant contributions
• Manual definition of learning structure (parameters)
• Manual preparation of backbone
• Scriptwriting and narrative
• Import into IMAplatform
• Manual setup of scoring and manual entering of scoring into
simulation structure

3. 3/13
The business need - 2
Translated into ImREAL “terms”, this means:
• DESIGN TIME: fully manual
• CONFIGURATION TIME: not present
• RUN TIME: based on a branching story with some randomness

5. 5/13
The business need - 3
How this can be “augmented” with ImREAL:
• DESIGN TIME:
• Storytelling module
• Storyboarding module
• CONFIGURATION TIME:
• Recognize user
• Let users chose what they want to learn
• RUN TIME:
• Offer adaptive content
• Offer adaptive tutoring

13. 13/13
Next steps:
• Fully implement Storytelling
• Experiment preparation of “real” content with Storyboarding
• Fully implement user recognition
• Train buddy to scaffold learning on job interview example
• Evaluate with users
