University of Southampton visits Abu Dhabi & Dubai office on 6th & 7th April 2011

University of Southampton will be visiting Intelligent Partners offices in Dubai and Abu
Dhabi on the 6th and 7th of April 2011.
Sanjeev Verma Director Intelligent Partners announced, “The University of Southampton is one
of the top 15 research universities in the UK and has achieved high scores for its teaching and
learning activities. Intelligent Partners is pleased to have their partner universities visit their
offices to meet interested students and parents and provide them a chance to clear their doubts”.
Southampton is located in the beautiful county of Hampshire on the south coast of England. The
University is 5 kilometers from the city center and students have easy access to the town’s
amenities. University of Southampton has its own bus service ‘uni-link’ to connect its five
campuses and residences for students.

Southampton is planning a series of Olympic stimulated events throughout the run for the
Games. Their facilities have been chosen as the Official Pre games Training Camps by LOCOG.
The universities expertise helped team GB achieve success at the 2008 Beijing Olympics using
their wind tunnels to accelerate the development of both track bikes and their riders. Academics
who work at the university include Sir Tim Berners-Lee inventor of the World Wide Web, David
Payne who invented EDFA for the use in fiber optic cables.
